Ten News Content and Appearance

I’m pretty sure 10 has immediate choice of content for 60mins US stories but yes the IP branding cannot be used by 10

Maybe 48 Hours? Or is that too true crime for 10?

Good golly Brisbane just keeps rising. I reckon it could become 10s best (or second best) market before year’s end.

10 recently tried 48 hours on the main channel, think it was Monday nights? They even did a local intro on a couple of occasions, before dumping it after it tanked in the ratings.

So you’re saying it’s on the to-do list…? (Good ol’ MS speculation here)

Decent article, no real new detail about the new investigative unit unfortunately - 10 playing their cards close to their chest there.

Though the date for the Late News return is wrong, it actually premiered 29 Apr 2024.

Seems from that article there has been a decent uptick in viewers (though no actual numbers) for lunchtime and afternoons which is good.

yes they got the dates wrong for the launch of the new national bulletins.

Not just for the Late News, the 1pm bulletin premiered in Jan 2023. Only the 3:30pm bulletin is correct (Jan 2024).

In addition, Ten brought back its 10.30pm Late News bulletin in October 2023, and added 1pm and 3.30pm bulletins in early 2024.

All of these dates could’ve been double checked in 10 seconds with a quick Google Search, :grimacing:

Just a thing with these new hires from 10, why invest in the new show when there’s still the local bulletins that need sorting. I saw 10 Brisbane used (not sure if other markets got the story) a CBS news package about the US training with Australian troops in Northern Queensland. The package showed the CBS reporter on the ground.

I feel that if it’s a local story/Australian-based story, a 10 reporter should be covering it (or at least packaging it) rather than taking the full CBS package, from start to finish.

Wasn’t that the Midday bulletin?

The CBS reporter probably had access a 10 reporter might not have.

They were embedded for the war games and ironically the reporter was Australian. She works for CBS.

Yeah, if it was dependent on US clearance it would probably be unlikely a 10 reporter would get in vs a CBS.

If @MossPickle means to VO it instead, it might have lost the track’s impact by doing so on this occasion.

Yes you’re correct. The bulletin began as the 12pm Midday bulletin in Jan 2023, can’t remember exactly when it moved to 1pm Lunchtime.

The bulletin also essentially repurposed the 8am Breakfast bulletin which aired Jun-Dec 2022.

Mid last year.

Reporter was Holly Williams.

Clearly, the investigation unit hasn’t started yet

But that wouldn’t have been on 10 to supply those dates to Mumbrella, they would’ve “researched” that part themselves.
