Ten Network - Programs and Schedules

New content from Sunday to Thursday in most of their schedule, which is awesome, and new content on Friday and Saturday up to 8.30pm, which is nice.

Jamie Oliver returns for yet another series. This time on Friday nights. Keeping with the lifestyle genre in that 7.30pm timeslot.

Wow they must’ve picked up some sort of Disney package to score a premiere. Probably good to have Disney movies 6:30 Saturdays throughout summer for school kids etc.

The Lion King also getting a run on 10 Peach, airing Sunday 10th November at 5:30pm.

Ten have had a relationship with Disney since early 2018, Nine including Stan late that year too (that ended due to Disney Plus launch at the end of 2019 before resuming a year or so ago). It followed Seven’s legacy output expiring. All three commercials now have licencing agreements with Disney including Fox.

10’s current one seems newest, focussed on recent Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar titles. Then Nine’s which is also tied-in with Stan, seems to be mainly Fox and some Touchstone titles. Seven’s seems mainly Fox (which I think is an expiring deal that was made in early 2018 when it was still a separate studio) and their classic staple Touchstone titles such as Con Air and Sister Act (which they got most of them back from late 2020 after having runs on Ten). Not sure if Seven have a newer contract or any new rights though, I’d be inclined to think any would go to Ten or Nine, wouldn’t be surprised to see Nine air some more Fox titles too around Christmas, such as Die Hard and Home Alone (I’m sure Seven would fight to keep those but maybe even Ten would like them again!)

They also air some Disney stuff in the mid 90s (mainly the older stuff):

Maybe they could try and score older stuff like that for Sunday morning 7am til 8am plus some ‘C’ rated shows instead of religion and cooking shows. This would be a change of tact for Ten opposed to other FTAs. Ten could possibly reboot Totally Wild as a Sunday morning 1 hour program that could be easily edited into 2 half hour shows or keep in same format for Nickelodeon

Has 10 been promoting The Lion King for tomorrow? I’m yet to see anything myself.

Matlock encore did go to air tonight, but Shark Tank encore was replaced by a repeat episode of NCIS. This week’s episode of Shark Tank will now be repeated tomorrow (Saturday) at 10.15am.

Strange they didn’t air the live action version though.

Hold up.
Why does the ad say 10play?
Surely 10 haven’t also acquired streaming rights as well for a limited period.

Because you can live stream it on 10Play

Honestly I think Ten needs to promote its schedule more.

Also, I think Ten needs to re-introduce a weekly documentary series (something competitors aren’t doing) plus reboot Video Hits as a Saturday and Sunday institution, but screen 6am til 9am with the Top 30 Saturdays and new and classic music videos Sunday with encores air Friday night (previous Sunday show) and Saturday night (airing Saturday morning show) on 10Comedy

That will be exclusive to Disney+ for a while.

Why? It’s 5 years old. Encanto is airing this Saturday and that’s only 3 years old.

Maybe they signed a contract for animated movies only. The studios seem to package them differently to sell to networks these days.

I remember seeing something about contracts where the Aussie networks sign up to a package of 10/20 movies, rather than a studio contract for all movies which is a lot more expensive.
