I do like that they’re trying something different, lord knows nothing else has been working for them lately… I just wonder if this block of programming has enough appeal on a Saturday evening. Guess we’ll soon see in a couple of weeks time how this works out for them.
Promo video
The production elements of the promo are unreal, great job by TEN there.
First time in many, many years that they’re trying something new for Saturdays.
This lineup brings back some memories of Super Crime Saturdays from a bit over 10 years ago. (a line-up that at one stage had shows going back to back from 7:30pm to 1am).
Nice looking promo there. Credit to Ten that they’re finally giving something new a go on Saturday nights. But no doubt it will all bomb big time for them unfortunately. Rather strange that they’ve put Hawaii Five-0 in there. Oh well…
The fact that there is no page yet on Tenplay for Son of Zorn , does this indicate it won’t be on catchup ?
Knowing Ten, it probably just means they’re slack.
They debuted the third season of “Mako: Island of Secrets” without updating the TenPlay website and didn’t even put out a press release. They then updated the website about three weeks later, which was when they added the first three episodes on catch-up. Slack to the max.
I agree. Full props for them having a good go at Saturday’s but I think dramas which require an audience to watch them week to week is not ideal for a Saturday night. I think more comedy, light entertainment, music or quiz type shows are probably more suited. Things that people could watch if they are home on a Saturday night but not something they need to watch every single week. I guess we wait and see how it goes.
Aren’t they all procedurals? No need to watch them every week…
Is that the days when Monk used to be a centrepiece of the line-up?
Yeah true but I still think they are shows that need to find a regular audience and people are less likely to tune into them once in a awhile. I guess we will see how it all goes.

I remember Ten (in non-AFL states) having what they called a “Super Crime Night” or something like that that filled the schedule from 6.30pm to around midnight back in 2004/05 which included shows such as Monk and the Law & Orders etc. Tassie used to receive this on TDT back in the day because it took the Sydney feed on Saturday’s while the AFL aired on Southern Cross instead.
Yep, a page went up sometime today … wasn’t there this morning. About a day before the show .

Is this show worth watching? Hopefully doesn’t end up like Bordertown.
Tvtonight reports there is a Dr Phil interview with JonBenets brother (one of the alleged killers). Ten should air this in prime time. 8:30 this Sunday could be wise.
IMO, this would’ve better if they started this at 6pm and run through until 9pm where they could’ve started a movie afterwards and still had it wrapped by about 10:30pm which wouldn’t have been too late. Now they need to still fill the 6pm timeslot, no doubt with some Bondi Vet series
It’s a Sat night, I don’t think a 9:30 start for a movie is to late. I can’t see H5O doing well at 8:30, I thought this lineup was running an hour later. Wonder what the other nets have?
Seven and Nine will have the usual movie double (family movie at 7pm followed by a M-rated movie after 9pm). They have nothing to fear of.
Would’ve made more sense IMO to start this block of shows from 7-10pm with an hour of variety or light entertainment from 6-7pm to compete against the news (doubtful) and then a late movie afterwards to finish.
Surely this will rate better than what they have at the moment?
What about Fridays and Sundays? Do they do ok? The Living Room must…
Is this all new content on Saturday?
