A schedule for lovers of movies.

10 the only commercial network with first run programming on Christmas Day Basketball in 2 markets and the Ghosts Christmas double episode that scored a season high rating for CBS

Barely any movies on the main channel all year, now we’ve got movie overload.

15 in a week! 10 Peach will probably air Happy Feet in Sydney and Melbourne.

Not a bad Xmas week schedule for what is otherwise such a shit network with no creativity in programming.

Two movie franchises will at least give it some consistency through the week.

We have all said that 10 should air movies throughout the year. Now, we have it. lol.

Indiana Jones and Hunger Games franchises are a good get.

As for Christmas Day, a Jamie Oliver marathon during the day. How riveting… lol. But kudos for doing something different in primetime with the NBL (in Sydney and Melbourne).

Probably as they have now got Village Roadshow, Lionsgate, STX, Touchstone and Paramount movies, which they didn’t have before.

Doesn’t look like it at this stage. Big Bang Marathon on 10 Peach and MacGyver/NCIS on 10 Bold. 10 Shake isn’t airing it either, with The Middle/Comedy Roasts.

Wouldn’t be surprised, especially the past 12 months, if Paramount have been smart in carefully licencing for TV, Pay and rival streamers, only allowing say one run per title (including encore and digital within a limited frame) and specificing by what date they have to have played them. So, for Paramount Plus and O&O (Network 10) they can potentially get rights - like this case with the aforementioned titles in above comments all having recently been on Seven or Nine. And now Paramount+ has launched here and globally, would bet they’ll be similar to Disney (Disney+) in restricting much to their platforms and only under strict terms and specific partners allow rival licencing. Just a solid theory, even if a bit of guess work, based on recent obs in our territory here in recent years.

Indy is a great get for 10, assuming they still hold rights for 2023’s mid-year release of the highly anticipated next instalment (trailer very recently dropped). Also one of the consistently higher rating franchises, over 300k metro earlier this year and following the 2017 AFL GF over 800k (and over 600k for the following 3 weeks after that).

Last on Seven earlier this year (once); Nine the last few before that, Seven for a decade before that, Ten a decade before that (first digitally remastered prints) and Nine before that in the 90s.

You guys are so glad having Movies again for 10 after lacking in schedules in past 5 years. No wonder why 10 struggled without blockbuster movies causing to rate behind the ABC. I thinking that 10 should launch a Saturday Night family movie block that will replace endless repeats in hope to lift Saturday night fortunes in ratings for the network.

Movies work well for December.

Christmas Day (day) line up is weak though. Seriously Jamie Oliver all day??

Update for Christmas Day (going by the online guides):
3.00pm: The King’s Christmas Speech ← This has been added to the schedule.
3:15pm: Jamie: Together At Christmas Rpt
4:15pm: Jamie’s ONE-Pan Christmas Rpt ← Shortened to a 45 minute version
5.00pm: News

I didn’t realise that the speech was done early in the day in the UK. For some reason, i thought the ABC had the first rights for some reason, as Nine usually airs the speech later in the night.
