Slow-tracked, so it’s guaranteed to fail.
Haven’t you worked out by now that it makes no difference. American shows are not rating like they used to. The potential audience is splintered across many channels and streaming services.
I don’t think that is why it is guaranteed to fail. It is on 10, wasn’t even promoted during the Melbourne Cup coverage and is a US show. Of course it is going to fail. If it manages 300k and top 10 in the under 50 demos its a done its job for 10.
It’s the usual story. Too busy promoting one reality show that starts in two months time and can’t be bothered promoting all the other shows in their current and upcoming schedule.
Yep. I do think it’s important to point out people are still watching American shows but they’re doing it now on Netflix or Stan or Foxtel for HBO stuff (and a small number still illegally downloading) and the quality of American shows on FTA TV here and there is by and large, poor.
Also, I don’t think the fast tracking argument really applies that much anymore and especially to a show like Unicorn.
that’s ok… no one was watching 10’s coverage apparently…
1.3 million - wouldn’t that be the most people who have tuned into 10 all this year? And that doesn’t even include those watching in bars, pubs, at work etc… And even still 10 would have had no idea what it would have rated. They would have expected big figures. So they should have been using that as a platform.
I know you are making fun of some peoples comments but still…
absolutely. It might’ve been down year-on-year with different networks… but it, once again, proves that if 10 have something worth watching then people will watch 10.
Which means 10’s not dead… but they have to find what they’re good at.
Many of which would have been watching on Racing.com or Sky Racing 1
Not the bar I was at.
The TAB I was at had all the usual suspects (Sky, Racing .com, Sky Texts, etc) but had one of its biggest screens on 10.
I thought how wonderful but also strange, seeing a bar full of middle aged to old blokes watching the youngest network and in recent times poorest performing.
And here I was thinking the same.

Not a great schedule. I would be surprised if 10 can hold on to third position in main channels with that schedule.
According to a new promo tonight during The Bachelorette, this special will now premiere next Thursday (November 21) at 7.30pm. I think the move is to avoid clashing with the debut of Hamish and Andy’s Perfect Holiday.
At this timeslot on Sunday will be a repeat of The Graham Norton Show compilation special from previous season.
Graham Norton presents the best moments from the series, featuring Will Smith, Madonna, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hanks, Taylor Swift, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Seth Rogen and Sir Ian McKellen.

Wise move. Jamie Oliver and Hamish & Andy have long battled it out over the coveted “Grocery buyers who enjoyed listening to a station of the Hit Network in the car on the way home from the farmers market” demographic.
This is a Showtime comedy special in the US, which is presumably how 10 picked it up through CBS. It aired there on the 1st November.
