As Auckland FC finished on top of A-League Men ladder, if it defeats (or draws against) Melbourne Victory in the semi final next Saturday, the A-League grand final will be held in Auckland. Auckland FC leads Victory 1-0 on aggregate.

I reckon 10 won’t finalise the schedule until after the results of the semi-finals are known next Saturday.

I saw a promo for SVU tonight during Taskmaster, and noticed that it would be on 10 AND 10 Play. So it looks like 10 has finally bought streaming rights to the remainder of the current season.

I wouldn’t be so sure. This happened last year too and ended up not happening. Also, I doubt it would happen mid season too.

Tonight’s ep was steamed on 10 play

Unfortunately not available to watch on demand though.

Well, live streaming rights is still a start.

Don’t think this is new from mid season as David says, believe I mentioned something from the start of the season that they had live streaming rights as it wasn’t blacked out on 10 play, though not available for catch-up as mentioned.

According to The Australian’s Media Diary, Ten are planning to launch a new hard hitting “news magazine show”, which has been briefed internally as being a mix between the ABC’s 7.30 and The Project.

Amelia Brace, Ashlee Mullany and Alex Cullen are on Ten’s wishlist to front the program.

10 spending on a news show seems unlikely, like them getting sports.

The Daily Telegraph’s Sydney Confidential is reporting that 10 is launching an investigation unit, specialised in long term investigative reports (see Ten News First content and appearance thread).

So it looks like this news magazine show could be part of the offering.

Good luck to them because they’ll need it, I do wonder where this investment is coming from considering they’ve already reinvested into Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane with their locally-presented bulletins.

I’m assuming that an investigative team will be deployed for content for ten news, project and online as well we the potential new current affairs show so maybe worthwhile in the long term.
But you are right, they have a long uphill battle for them to be considered a go-to station when news breaks. They are a very distant 4th for news coverage in this country and that is not gonna change for a long long time.
But perhaps this is a good (and encouraging) first step.

Came across this show today and thought it would be a good fit for ten

Who’s doing the dishes???

Synopsis: Over the course of a week, five different celebrities cook a meal for a group of four strangers, who must figure out the identity of each celebrity in order to win cash prizes.

Had three year run in the UK a few years back but could be worth a shot?!?

I’ve never heard of that show and I live in the UK! Definitely not my cup of tea… or meal.

I read about a fairly similar show in Austria recently which is just a family eating dinner… for 40 minutes. Yes, you read that correctly. It’s called ‘Dinner’ (or ‘Das Abendessen’), oddly enough.

Because the show is live and unscripted, viewers regularly stumble into the episodes when the family members are already discussing something. So far, so confusing. And of course, the conversations are as banal and uninteresting for the general public as you might imagine. The daughter has to explain why she doesn’t like gherkins and shortly afterwards the mother has to go and fetch salad bowls because they’re missing. On another day, another family talks about their experiences at the gym, and also why some people don’t like coriander.

If you want to be as enlightened as I am, you can read more about it here (obvs use a translator if you’re not fluent in German):
