Ten Network - Programs and Schedules

Apologies from my end. I just saw the rpt also.

Wasted opportunity then for Sunday night having repeats there, alongside on Sat nights.

This is a terrible line up for prime time on a Thursday. 10 just can’t compete as they don’t have enough content to cover the lack of a major sport.

Another special on the making of Mission: Impossible: Final Reckoning. I assume Angela Bishop is involved in this?

Not ideal, but with The List tanking they’re probably hard up on options to replace it with which is somewhat understandable.

Most networks aren’t programming for these slots anyway.

Paramount+ drama series Fake, starring Asher Keddie and David Wenham, will have its FTA premiere on 10 on Sunday, May 25.

Saw a promo during MasterChef tonight.

Glad to see Fake get a FTA run. Maybe they should look at some other Paramount+ shows for a FTA run like Spreadsheet, One Night, Paper Dolls etc.

Solid drama. I enjoyed it.
But why does ten endlessly promote their tent pole shows with ads that send us crazy for 6 weeks, and then try and launch a drama with a couple of weeks notice.
Then they get surprised why it Dosent rate…

Lol these shows disappeared from P+ early last year, so they wouldn’t have any interest in picking them up again for FTA.

One Night and Paper Dolls are both still on Netflix I believe, don’t think Spreadsheet is available anywhere locally.

Well, they’re looking for cheap content and they need Australian content for quotas so makes sense to slot them in somewhere.

They’re sorted for now with making enough content, not sure we need to be dragging out years old dramas that flopped (which they willingly gave up the rights to) just to fill quotas.

It will be interesting however, when Neighbours wrapps, how they intent to re-invest that money saved into other hopefully local drama productions.

It’s clear they are short on content. Hence the constant “rpt” that drowns their schedule.

We must be looking at different schedules. Ten have repeats in so many prime time slots. They are struggling to find enough first run FTA content.

At least with Paramount+ content, they can get a cheap deal and maybe give the shows a second life.

Not sure they are short of content - they do have shows to screen - whether or not they rate is another thing but they do have:

Tulsa King (S2)
FBI: Most Wanted
Ghosts
NCIS: Sydney
Watson
Paper Dolls (for FTA)
Law and Order: SVU

But you were talking about filling quotas, which is what I replied to - not whether they make enough content to fill their schedule. Doesn’t take a scientist to figure out they obviously don’t have the funds to throw more money at content than they already are.

My point is that they ditched those local dramas from streaming which didn’t work and when they needed to cut costs, and I don’t necessarily see the value (or the possibility) of them bringing them back to FTA just to fill certain quotas when they’ll rate horribly.

OK. But I was talking about both quotas and the number of repeats in the schedule across the whole year.

They should have a better strategy for dramas (or any show for that matter). Obviously dropping a whole season on a streaming service is not the best strategy.

Its much like the reason Ten (and other FTAs) dont rebroadcast a lot of their past Australian content (eg Prisoner, E Street, Carsons Law, Number 96) - there is value or incentives to screen them on the main or secondary channels when they can get US imports dirt cheap.

With lower revenues, the networks cant afford to waste money on content they don’t necessarily need

Critically Acclaimed Drama Series Fake, Starring Asher Keddie And David Wenham, Coming To 10 And 10 Play.

Fake Starts After MasterChef Australia On Sunday, 25 May.

Following its record-breaking debut on Paramount+, the gripping multi–AACTA Award nominated Australian drama Fake is set to captivate free-to-air audiences when it starts after MasterChef Australia on Sunday, 25 May on 10 and 10 Play.

Inspired by journalist Stephanie Wood’s bestselling memoir, Fake delves into the unsettling world of romance scams, exploring themes of love, deception, and self-discovery. The eight-part series stars Gold Logie Award-winner Asher Keddie (Offspring, Love My Way) as Birdie Bell, a successful magazine writer who becomes entangled in a complex relationship with the enigmatic Joe Burt, portrayed by acclaimed actor David Wenham (The Lord of the Rings, Top of the Lake).

Convinced by her well-meaning friends and family that this could be her very own happily ever after, Birdie begins to believe that it is finally her chance to live the fairytale. As cracks start to form in Joe’s stories, Birdie soon discovers her boyfriend isn’t all he has led her to believe.

Upon its initial release, Fake became the biggest first-week launch of a local drama series since Paramount+ arrived in Australia, cementing its place as one of the most compelling and talked-about Australian series of 2024.

Critics have praised the series for its intense storytelling and powerful performances. The Sydney Morning Herald described the series as ‘one of the best Australian dramas of the decade,’ The Guardian praised Asher’s portrayal, saying that she “thrills in visceral drama about a romance scammer,” and Mamamia described the series as "an unsettling masterclass in gaslighting and emotional abuse.”

Fake is a Kindling Pictures production for Paramount+ Australia, with major production investment from Paramount ANZ and Screen Australia, in association with VicScreen. Entertainment One (eOne) handle international sales.

Fake Starts After MasterChef Australia on Sunday, 25 May On 10 And 10 Play.
