But this is no different to any 10 show. I mean likely to have a different audience at 6am and 11am.
Unlike shows like Cheap Seats, HYBPA etc that get multiple early primtime encores.
Even their rubbish repeats of Judge Judy and Dr Phil have multiple repeats.
Surely the next morning on Peach would be sufficient? Hate seeing the main channel littered with these repeats which really should be multi-channel fodder at most.
We all agree but thats 10 for you, and they have tried morning shows and nobody watched and get more viewers with repeats so its no wonder they do it in mornings.
I know promotion is the key for new programs, but did Ten not learn from Family Feud where Ten flooded the day with multiple screenings across the multichannels.
Well that was a primetime show and this is an easily repeatable daytime fodder that is more built for sampling in different windows
True, but given Ten’s program strategies in the past, weekend encores are also highly likely
The other consideration here is if Ten continues with early morning encores on main channel and the newly acquired soaps end up on there too, then are Ten going to meet the minimum quota for Australian programming between 6am and midnight?
I believe this is still 55% or approximately 10 hours a day. Someone please correct me if I am wrong about the minimum quota requirements.
The 55% requirement is still there, from 6am until midnight. Airing shows like The Drew Barrymore Show, and the two US soapies essentially just replace Dr Phil and hopefully Judge Judy. There is still plenty of local content - particularly between midday and around 9.30pm.
One of the reasons why they launched the Afternoon News and Late News. It adds and extra hour of local content per day.
Plus the Midday News makes two hours per day.
They will probably keep the Neighbours, Deal or No Deal and cooking show repeats too.
What are they likely to remove to give them time to screen these shows on the main channel, assuming it’s the intention. Without going too much into mock schedules territory, if they keep these, I guess they have already got 2 hours in early morning cooking shows and 1 hour with Dr Phil, potentially another hour with Judge Judy and the 8am edition of ET, that would leave 1 hour, assuming the Drew Barrymore encores remain.
The only thing I can think of without interfering with the afternoon schedule is bringing everything in the morning up an hour or so to create a bloc of US content 9am til midday. Other than that, I think Ten will be walking a very thin line relating to Australian content requirements
From my understanding, the days quota for local programming has to be ‘new content’. Repeats such has Neighbours and Deal or No Deal in the mornings don’t count.
Foxtel are promoting the change of channel for Days of Our Lives during today’s episode on FoxOne. They are telling viewers that it will be on 10Play from Monday.
Surprising though I suppose it might help reduce the number of people asking where it has gone and hence general chatter and time required to respond.
The 10Play app is on Foxtel so I’m sure it’s just them trying to keep the viewers on their platform?
Was originally scheduled, but seems to be a late (?) change to boost numbers for Taskmaster.
Website team obviously didn’t get the memo.
Damn. I love Lloyd.
Just was the morning schedule for next Monday, and although it’s tidied somethings up, I’m not so sure about moving Dr Phil to 9am and Deal Or No Deal to 10,30am.
Also looks like Neighbours encores will run Monday to Thursday morning at 8am from next week
