Ten (Mildura Digital Television)

Isn’t VAST free?

It is free to view and watch, but the boxes aren’t cheap. You’ll be doing very well to pick one up for less than $250. Once you add in the cost of a dish and installation/wiring it soon becomes a very expensive exercise.

Where’s Hubbl boxes when you need them?
Foxtel could make a bargain out of this if they wanted to.

You need a reliable internet connection to use Hubbl. And we know how slow the internet can be in rural areas.

Starlink is doing a good job solving that problem.

Because their sales people weren’t selling enough ads - simple.

If you’ve got a strong enough internet connection why would you not just use 10 Play for free instead of buying a Hubbl box?

Maybe but I don’t think so in the short to medium term

Wouldn’t some people prefer to take a seat on a couch and be able to flick between 10 and other networks, rather than needing to open a device for 10play or load a TV app up, and have to reload it each time they want to flick to 10? I know 10 has one of the longer load times for it’s TV app.

This topic seems to be Groundhog Day - the same discussion points keep getting made over and over. Time to close it like the channel itself?

Only if someone records it!

And to this day the PVR recording of the Ten Mildura shutdown from the main transmitter still hasn’t been found! Time to label this as Lost Media folks?

As far as I know, the recording files themselves have been saved (but not posted), but the video contained in those files is encrypted by the TV PVR that made the recording, and despite best efforts, they haven’t been successfully decrypted. There was a phone recording of the shutdown made Ten (Mildura Digital Television) - #593 by Casper so there is a record of the event.

I think as there is nothing or not likely to be anything new about MDT to discuss for the foreseeable future, we’ll close this thread.

If any developments or anything new comes up later on this topic, we can re-open the thread if appropriate.

RIP MDT
