Come to think of it, the animation of the sphere is very similar to that of the Eyewitness News logo!
The graphics in that promo look great, but I canāt help but feel that itās a little inspired by the Nine HD promos in parts.
Mind you, it could very well be also because DD8 (who have been known to produce On-Air packages for both Nine and Ten before) probably produced both the Nine HD and Ten HD promos but stillā¦
Higher res video - of course this is from a MPEG 2 source so not indicative of what MPEG 4 might be like. Interesting to see what bit allocation the channel gets.
Sort of jealous you guys are getting HD. Iām keeping my fingers crossed Southern Cross Ten changes to HD before the end of this year. From what Iām hearing Win seems to be somehow doing their rollout quite promptly for their channels.
What do you mean by HD breakaway programming?
Ten HD showing programming thats different from the main channel, like they used to do in 2007.
There wonāt be any breakaway programming.
If SCTen goes HD would they have to buy all new HD encoders etc ? Could they keep the SC10 HD as MPEG-2 .?
Iām hoping ten HD is a available on channel 210 on Foxtel from day 1. I donāt like flicking between inputs. You would think that seeing as though fox have a stake in ten it should just be a matter,of course.
The new logo does remind me of the old Ten News logo from the early 2000ās. Goes to show how edgy and far ahead of its time that logo was. Bring it back please Ten. Get funky again.
The Ten HD logo reminds me of the WIN discs that used to be on Nineās 2008 presentation
Well the current Eyewitness News graphics and theme is meant to be a modern take on the 1995-2005 presentation. Seems like some things donāt go out of style
@Lexington any chance you know if there will be a Eyewitness News graphics refresh?
They wouldnāt need to as they are already broadcasting one in HD to all SCTen areas.
Yes. To fit two data casting channels, eleven, one & ten sd plus ten hdā¦ they would need to have it MPEG4, unless they went for a really dodgy bitrate.
Damn sexy ;).
It wonāt be. That would require Ten to pay another re-transmission fee. Not only that, but as Iāve said previously, the only reason ten SD & nine SD are still around is because of the requirement to broadcast the same as what is transmitted on foxtel. (Iād never heard of that legislation, but I trust my source.)
Not that Iāve heard.
So what will be on 210 (currently one HD)on Foxtel cable set top box? We got 9hd on 209 the same day as it went free to air.
I can understand it wonāt be on Foxtel satellite.
