Are the supers SD? certainly look that way from the images ^
Ten HD on Foxtel channel 210 with One moving to Channel 140

Ten HD is all over the place. The Studio 10 studio shots and GFX look HD - but the Ten HD bug is SD!
And then scroll up and look at The Project. Most of the GFX are SD but the Ten HD bug is HD - see how much more crisp it is?
Studio 10 must be added the bug themselves from a non HD source
Yes, my bad. When I looked at the images on my phone they looked blurry.
You are right, they are certainly HD
When you read the TenHD comments on the Ten Facebook page, you realise most people have absolutely no clue about who owns what & how TV networks operate.
Many regional people complaining to Ten (metro) about no TenHD regionally (despite Network Ten having no control over regional operations), & then also comparing to 9HD (NBN), despite being blinded to 9HD (NBN) starting months after 9HD metro & Nine Entertainment do have control over NBNTV operations, not to mention missing out on 9Life for months regionally too.
The sooner the metro networks can take over the regional networks & bring them all up to equal standards the better.
Just because they have the same ID, doesnât make them the same.
I think weâve established that Ten has only bought their overseas shows in SD format and it will be quite a while before they start purchasing them in HD. Itâs pointless posting pictures of every SD show on the HD channel here and having a whinge. You will need to be patient.
Such a shame that alot of content is SD or upconverted to HD.
I canât wait to see what the Clipsal 500 looks like on TEN HD.
I donât get it - why are the US shows all in SD?
Theyâve known their plans to go HD for months.
And to the people suggesting HD is more expensive format to buy - that is categorically wrong. The US has been distributing masters in HD for almost a decade. In fact itâs the standard. To send out an SD copy is deviating from the standard and if anything is more expensive than SD! Not to mention US studios want their shows shown in the best format possible and to look as good as possible.
Ten clearly just isnât organized.
Yeah I agree with that. They obviously have no clue about it whatsoever

You wouldnât expect the masses to know details of how they operate. Theyâre only concern is the content and presentation - thatâs why people watch!
Thatâs what you get with an affiliate that doesnât really use its own branding or presentation. You canât really blame people for thinking they get Ten regionally.
The Ten Play blog seems to indicate many shows will be in HD.
It says âThe dedicated HD channel will transform the audience experience, providing a crystal-clear picture and sharp, stunning images.â
Unless the plan was to have just sport in proper HD and upconverted SD for everything else for the time being.
Looks like Iâm not missing out on much by not living in a metro area just yet !
And yeah Iâm in a SC10 area and the only time you see the words Southern Cross is when there is a community announcement ad I think. Otherwise it is easy to see how people think of it as just Ten .
But if Ten were buying a HD version then why wouldnât they just show it in HD?
Thatâs just PR spin!
Clearly they are not. I was just nixing the argument that HD format is more expensive to buy. I just donât think Ten got around to sourcing HD format in time.

Should have been sourcing HD by default like Seven and Nine.
What about shows like Entertainment Tonight, Stephen Colbert, The Talk etc which should be airing hours after US broadcast. Surely these can sourced from an HD feed and broadcast on TEN HD in HD
Watching ten news is like watching Sky newsâŚgreat studio shots and graphics and the rest of the pictures including live crosses looks like shit.
