Ten (Darwin Digital Television)

Not just TARA, the whole early evening lineup has been brought forward. Good to see them prioritising live sport.

Looks like they simply took the Brisbane schedule live rather than delaying it half an hour as is likely usual - smart enough move.

This Wednesday (February 28), Ten Darwin will take the Brisbane schedule live from 6pm, for the women’s Olympic football qualifier between Australia and Uzbekistan. It means however Deal or No Deal will not be shown on the main channel, only 10 Bold and 10 Peach.

Interesting how Ten Darwin has its own site, obvs from the SCA days, although Nine appears to administer it.

Does DDT under Seven/Nine still do the little extra stuff like classifieds etc.?

To me it kinda just looks like a cheap attempt at replicating the layout for 10’s BVOD Catch-Up streaming service. To me it screams just that.

Looks like a revamped website btw. There was a more basic one there previously.

My question is more why it even has a site and who is paying for it.

Functions better than 10Play :winking_face_with_tongue:

Create a digital presence and some semblance of localism/community to spruik to advertisers for more dollars?

That would be my guess, whether it’s effective or not though is another matter, presumably it is if they persist.

It has been operational for years and none of the other ones have a site, plus it’s a Ten station so no chance of profitability outside the aggregated markets.

Uh, don’t you mean 10 watch and stream free?:winking_face_with_tongue:

just fyi the terms and conditions mentions Nine as the sales agent, so maybe Nine manages the site:

Nine Network Australia including Darwin Digital Television Pty Limited.

The 10 Darwin office has closed and all sales now run through Nine.

I’m surprised they had a separate office at all, instead of just a few desks at either Seven or Nine’s location.

They needed the space for their news division.

10 now run this station right?
Substantially better promotion than some of the ads they were churning out last year

Is there a reason 10 do this exclusively on 10 Darwin only?
Funny considering 10 don’t even operate a news service in the Top End.

10 Darwin is a joint venture co-owned by Seven West Media and Nine Entertainment.
