I had thought that the Sixers hosted the first ever BBL01 final in 11/12 against Perth, but turns out that was played at the WACA Ground.

The release clause has not applied to fast bowlers because of their tougher physical workloads, so Strikers quick Billy Stanlake will not play in the BBL final and instead stay with the national squad.

This was part of an article posted on the Cricket Australia website. Those four overs must be bloody tough work. What a load of rubbish. Stanlake should be playing in the final.

And no Rashid Khan today either? I’m not sure why he wasn’t able to play, other commitments I’m guessing.

Rashid Khan has flown to Dubai to play for Afghanistan. The country is hosting a limited over series (Twenty20 and ODI) against Zimbabwe.

Why did Ten fly Tim Gossage over from Perth to Adelaide to be the MC at today’s WBBL and BBL finals? Isn’t there anyone at Ten Adelaide who is able to take up the duties?

I’m guessing because Perth were playing in the wbbl.

The 6 previous BBL/WBBL games in SA this season have had Roger Oldridge or Roz Kelly boundary riding. Obviously Ten didn’t feel the need for Roz to be on air for 8.5 hours and Roger is in Minnesota. Gossage is an absolute pro, clearly the best person for the job.

Good pre game show from ten with hosting done from outside the ground to build all the atmosphere. The final needs to become a bigger event to even attract the casual fan outside the supporters of the playing teams.
