potentially, I’ve found this in Mac OS updates, but it somehow deletes an update completely from the device or uploads that to the cloud, maybe it does the same with watchOS.
iOS 15 (and WatchOS 8) introduced a feature that allowed low space devices to be upgraded by temporarily (and without storage cost) uploading to iCloud to allow for space to be made to facilitate the upgrade
Takes a lot longer then a normal upgrade because it has to upload and download to iCloud
Apple event next Tuesday… potentially new MacBooks - also known as I might be buying more than the new watch this year!
Updated iPad Pros too perhaps?
That’s one day before the Google event where the new Pixel 6 phones will be launched. Apple trying to steal the limelight?
Only MacBooks and potentially Mac Mini Pro
The new MacBook Pros (in 14 and 16 inch sizes) and Airpods 3 have been announced. The Homepod Mini is also available in three new colours - orange, yellow and blue.
I must not buy it. I must not buy it. I must not buy it. I must not buy it. I must not buy it. I must not buy it. I must not buy it. I must not buy it. I must not buy it. I must not buy it.
But you’ll buy it anyway?
I want one too
What has caught your eye? Can’t say anything announced overnight really caught my eye
Next year I was planning on rebuilding my PC (I will have had it for 4 years with some upgrades between - i7 8700K, 64GB RAM).
If I am not impressed enough by the upcoming AMD Zen 4 chips then I will probably scrap it altogether and buy an OP 16 inch Macbook Pro.
Geekbench results show that the M1 Max is more powerful than an i9 11900K desktop CPU.
Specifically:
- M1 Pro/Max raw power while still sipping battery life compared to similar Windows laptops
- 120Hz Mini LED screen (minus the notch)
- Battery life
I swear Apple are taking the piss now - I also find it incredibly hard to believe that such a design “feature” would have met with Steve Jobs’ approval
As bad as the notch is, I can understand why Apple has done it.
They’ve removed all branding from the front of the laptop (the text under the display saying MacBook Pro). They want people to know that it is a MacBook, and the notch is a really distinctive way of automatically knowing what brand it is (and the current Apple is all about instant brand recognition).
