Looked into this and it’s because the new Music app doesn’t support podcasts or audiobooks. Downloading the new Apple Music and Apple TV apps removes the music and TV functionality in iTunes and just leaves those two. I kind of respect the commitment to keeping it around (or lack of care in breaking it completely)

RAM is just as bad. I was looking into getting a new 32gb kit and it costs $500+ now… Would’ve liked a new SSD to replace my 2x1tb HDDs (and accompany my main 1tb SSD) but I don’t think I’ll do that anytime soon.

Vodafone pinged over outback smear concerns

TPG Telecom has been found in breach of the AANA code over a Vodafone television advertisement featuring comedian Ali Wong.

The AANA panel found the ad breached section 2.6 of its code of ethics for having trivialised the lives of those living in regional and remote Australia.

The ad has not been shown across free-to-air television, TV on demand, YouTube or Facebook since April 18, and has been amended to omit the words “clearly, nothing’s out here” and "actually.”

Moving forward, any versions of the ad will be changed from “Get coverage where 98.5% of you actually live” to “Get coverage where 98.5% of you live.”

Good that it was altered it was quite insensitive. Not sure how it got approved in the first place.

Because no one gives a shit about people outside the capital cities, and even then they don’t give a shit about people out of Sydney and Melbourne, and even then, they don’t give a shit about people outside of Sydney.

And even then, they don’t give a shit about people other than themselves

Can relate because I’m suffering too.

This is a global incident. Instructure hasn’t really said much.

It’s come back online, at least for Adelaide Uni.

Source - I am an Adelaide Uni student trying to finish off an assignment due tonight :winking_face_with_tongue:

So was I when I logged on around 12.30pm AEST.

1.17pm was the time Instructure confirmed service resumption for most users.

Yep my university uses Canvas LMS , and they have made arrangements to extend assignment deadlines to next Friday.

Surely given the impact you’d think Adelaide Uni would consider to extend any assignments that are due tonight for a few more days or at least a week, like RMIT is doing for most.

Anyway hope you can get your assignment done . Thankfully mine was not due to next week anyway.

Well, I just found out QLearn was shut down a few days ago and it’s still down as of now. It basically means if you are studying in Queensland, you won’t be submitting anything at the moment.

Policy is if it’s down for more than 4 hours (which was the case) - 24 hour extension.

And now down again, at least for Adelaide Uni.

We’ve now been told any assignments due up to Monday will now be given an extension until Friday the 15th.

QLearn in QLD been down all day… printing assignments now… yuck.

The company at the centre of a cyber attack involving online learning platform Canvas says it has reached an “agreement” with the hackers responsible, with Instructure’s CEO offering an apology to those affected.

The data breach involved the theft of large amounts of data, including student ID numbers, email addresses and messages on the learning platform.

Instructure says it has received assurances from the hackers that no one will be extorted with the stolen information, but says it’s continuing to investigate the data breach.

Google is down.
