It’s not just Skype which will be phased out, Microsoft also confirmed that its Publisher software would also be dropped in October next year.
I haven’t felt this shocked and sad since Clippy got clipped. Sure, I haven’t used Publisher much and nor did I use Clippy or the gang but far out - some things are just meant to stay around forever.
Publisher has been unloved for many years now. There are many easier online platforms such as Canva which do a better job than Publisher nowadays.
i must say, Publisher did get dated quickly - considering some of the templates as well
although will have memories from high school using it
I guess a lot of people probably use Canva instead.
The key giveaway for me was in 2010 when the majority of other MS Office applications received the new WordArt UI, and to this day Publisher still uses the ancient interface!
If publisher has been basically dead for that long, why dead Microsoft always sell it as a separate product? rather than having it available with Microsoft Office?
Microsoft turned 50 on Friday, April 4.
