Mini LED is pretty comparable to OLED. I got an LG QNED91 65 inch in 2023 and the black levels and vibrant colours (things that OLED TVs are known for) are really good.

Apparently there is a large ISP outage affecting NSW right now.

I canā€™t connect via TPG NBN, currently hotspotting my PC via my mobile using Telstra.

Allegedly a power outage at their Sydney data centre, but Iā€™m sure thereā€™s more to the story. A data centre of that size would have backup power (both battery UPS and generators). I would also expect that the size of TPGā€™s network would mean that they would have gear across many racks so a fault at the rack wouldnā€™t take everything out.

Iā€™ve done some work with a much smaller ISP (around 20-30K customers) and even they are setup with redundant data centres so that if for instance they have an outage at their Sydney data centre all customers will be re-routed to the Melbourne or Brisbane data centres automatically. Surely an ISP the size of TPG would have something similar in place.

Any offer as long as it aligns with their values, yes. Musk is being a dick and needs to be un-personed as soon as possible for humanityā€™s sake.

I donā€™t have much positive things to say about the AI ā€˜tech brosā€™ in the past few years, but Iā€™m happy OpenAI didnā€™t take Elonā€™s ā€˜offerā€™. Wished them wouldā€™ve done the opposite and buy Twitter too, but thatā€™d just be a figurehead change.

I wait for the day Elonā€™s Icarus wings melt off (from his space shuttle, perhaps)ā€¦

HP Inc is trying to force consumer PC and print customers to use online and other digital support channels by setting a minimum 15-minute wait time for anyone that phones the call center to get answers to troublesome queries.

The wait time was added on Tuesday, February 18, according to internal communications seen by The Register, and impacts retail patrons in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany and Italy, though we anticipate more countries could be added.

Well, customers should boycott their products and tell their friends not to buy the brand because after sales service is rubbish.
