…, later this year, season three will feature another brilliant line-up with Pete Helliar, Mel Buttle, Aaron Chen, Concetta Caristo and Rhys Nicholson battling it out. The competition may be serious, but the competitors certainly aren’t.
October.
Longer review (minor spoilers)
Episode 3 on Thursday June 6 will be shown at the special time of 8.30pm, after MasterChef, due to the Australia v China women’s football friendly on Monday.
One of the tasks in tonight’s episode was that each comedian picked a business card from Tom, called the actual small business and speak to the owner for five minutes, then had 30 minutes to compose a convincing advertising jingle. For the record, the businesses were:
Josh - Double Trouble Company (accessories for pets) - Canberra
Jenny - Repressed Records - Newtown, NSW
Lloyd - DCM Plumbing & Drainage - Burleigh Heads, Queensland
Wil - Little Lon Distilling Co - Melbourne CBD
Anne - Framous Picture Framing - Midland, WA
Double Trouble co-owner Rebekah was in the audience for this episode and gave a gift bag to Josh.
Tom Cashman was on triple j breakfast this morning with Concetta Caristo (on upcoming season) they were talking about the seasons being flipped and said that it was due to Peter Helliar being overseas filming Amazing Race
Seems like a weak reason to me to switch the seasons, but what would I know?
If anything makes more sense to air it now before Amazing Race goes to air, especially as they might end up clashing in Q3/Q4 - though wouldn’t be surprised at all to see the “third” season not turn up until 2025.
Do the cast even do much promo for it - being in the UK I’m obviously not fully aware but the web interviews I’ve seen have all been with the hosts, not the participants.
If 10 play is to be believed (plot twist, it’s not) then Taskmaster is airing at 8:40pm on Thursday… except this was for last week with the episode of MasterChef added due to the Matildas on Monday night.
Sigh / 10.
Season 2 premieres on TVNZ 2 in New Zealand next Wednesday (June 19) at 8.35pm.
According to a promo after the finale, Taskmaster Season 3 starts in October.
Am guessing about 24th October, based on Gogglebox starting 15 August and running for 10 episodes again.
10 is an absolute basket case.
First Desert Masters was “immediately following MC” and it didn’t and now TaskMaster was going to be 2 seasons back to back and it isn’t.
They’ve still got no for sight after all this time.
Noticed this season being referred to as the second during the final, despite some reports that the 2nd and 3rd had been swapped.

Personally, now that we are at the end of the season, I don’t this would have been a smart idea anyway.
I do think this season was pretty good actually. Anne the absolute stand out.
I reckon this season was better than the last one, thanks to Anne and Jenny.
I think Tom Gleeson might have re-recorded this introduction after the studio filming was completed.
They either had already decided to delay that previously recorded season or had Tom record a different intro for the segment.
