She was fun at the studio recording, looking forward to seeing the whole season next year sometime. They have also filmed tasks in Sydney this time (Cockatoo Island) as well as in NZ.
Dave Hughes? Probably won’t watch that season
Well, that’s your problem.
Sounds like a new show “Hughesy, I have a problem.”
You like him?!
He’s fine. He can bd very funny. I certainly don’t have a vendetta against him.
I do think Taskmaster (more than any format) opens me up to comedians who I don’t like.
I know I grew to appreciate Will Anderson from his season (when I normally don’t care for him), and I have seen people on the change their tune on Julia Morris after her Taskmaster run
I’m probably in the same camp as you with him, but I’ll be curious to see what he brings to the show
I guess comedy is subjective, but I find this show up and down depending on who is on.
Aaron Chen is great. Rhys did well. Pete was okay… but if you like Chen - he does so well
Only half way through the first episode but is definitely the funniest first episode of the Australian version.
At the halfway point of season 3, Rhys is leading the competition with 81 points, followed by Concetta and Peter (both on 78), Aaron (76) and Mel (68).
However, fansite Taskmaster.info notes that Peter’s score has a discrepancy.
Peter Helliar is shown on the official episode scoreboard of episode 3 as having 2 more points that he should. This appears to be related to the ‘Create an original two-player sport’ task, where he should have been docked 2 points for losing his game against Tom Cashman. This discrepancy has been carried over onto the season scoreboards, as is evident from the season score updates at the end of episodes 4 and 5.
Meanwhile on channel 4
Junior Taskmaster is the brand-new offspring of the BAFTA and National Comedy Award-winning, Taskmaster. Taking to the thrones are Junior Taskmaster Rose Matafeo (Comedy Award winner, BAFTA & RTS Award nominated comedian, director, writer and actor) and Assistant Mike Wozniak (Double Comedy Award nominee, comedian, writer, ex-GP and star of Man Down).
Set to take on the fiendishly baffling series of tasks are 25 contestants aged between nine and 11 who show up, ready and willing to give their all in the name of entertainment. Matafeo will pass judgement as they complete the typically idiosyncratic challenges in the brand-new Junior Taskmaster house, equipped with a shed, a caravan and a laboratory, alongside a dazzle of zebras, sandcastle pedestal and revolving top hat spinning wheel. With tasks that are designed to encourage and inspire wile, wit, creativity and athleticism, Wozniak is in his element enthusiastically overseeing each and every task.
During the intro on tonight’s episode, Tom Gleeson joked that this show was the only official version of Taskmaster, and that other international versions of the show, with different accents, were “frauds”.
Cate Blanchett is special guest on this week’s episode via a pre-recorded video.
Turns out Cate Blanchett was asked by Rhys Nicholson to be part of the task, “Record someone with the most heavenly speaking voice”. Rhys said on the stage that Cate had seen his performance previously.
Synopsis for season 3 finale next Tuesday
Unreliable items, gnome names, new sins and pancake flips! Who will be the winner of season three!
Must say Junior Taskmaster is surprisingly joyful and Rose and Mike work really well leading the show. TBH Greg and Alex are quite tired now on the main UK version.
Surprised there was no sneak peek of season 4 following the conclusion of season 3 finale tonight.
