The news theme is OK, but doesn’t grab me in the cojones. A good news theme makes you pay attention, stop what you’re doing and focus on what they’re saying. And by makes, I mean if it could, it’d strap you to the chair, shove headphones on and tell you to listen as if your life depended on it.

I for one welcome our new Tapt overlords and their new news theme.

I also just checked Ace Radio and they’re still rolling with the old pre-2019 3AW news theme. I guess there is no reason for them to change.

Just a link to info about the transition to Tapt.

The Laundy family said the Tapt Media name had been designed to reflect a business that is “tapt in” and connected to audiences, advertisers and the broader media market.

4BC News at 8:30 am - silence as broadcast

Have any of the reporters signed off with e.g. “Bob Smith, Tapt News”?

I know the newsreaders end generically e.g. “that’s the latest news and sport”, but some reporters used to include Nine News at the end of a report.

I haven’t seen any evidence they’re using Tapt as a front-facing/listener-facing brand

No. And it should be kept that way.

Wonderful. As it should be for a syndicated news service.

The Tapt Media website has been made by create, the digital arm of Ace Radio which also does the Ace and SRN websites.

Should’ve brough back the Macquarie name for that news service if they’re not using Tapt for it.

There doesn’t need to be a network news name IMO

I actually love the new News intro. Very NewsRadio/cable news-esq.. leans into what is happening right now.

Sounding great and fresh so far.

Can’t believe they still use the time pips after all these years but hey it makes them unique from the other broadcasters

I was told it just comes off GPS at the transmitter and fed into the input directly, so not much tech involved unlike how the ABC apparently had theirs fed by landline from Telstra
