Survivor (US)

They always happen around this time. There are only 4 episodes left in the season.

Adam was in the right season to win the first time around: a season of all new players with some bigger personalities and far bigger threat levels than him, along with a few obvious goats. He’s like a cartoon character on the show and I don’t think his style would ever work around a seasoned group like this.

I normally can’t stand family visits but this was the best I’ve seen by a mile, particularly when the ones on EOE got to see their families.

Nah fuck off the family visit was fantastic. It’s a nice call back to when Parviti said in the first ep that since playing a lot of the cast have had families.

Seeing all that made me tear up. It is something that was done perfectly.

Very tactful. We are all entitled to our view so I won’t today thanks. Family visits are fine when there are around the final 3 as in our Survivor. That spoiled the episode for me going for almost half the episode. That’s my opinion and that’s what Media Spy is all about!

No it’s the same length.

SURVIVOR: WINNERS AT WAR is actually slightly longer than most SURVIVOR seasons. The episode number count is the same (14 episodes + reunion) as most other series BUT SURVIVOR: WINNERS AT WAR will have 2 more episodes than a normal season. This is due to the fact episode 1 & episode 13 are two hour double episodes that only counted as single episodes.

The first 2 hour episode of SURVIVOR: WINNERS AT WAR was edited as two episodes back to back with two Tribal Councils - it only counted as one episode. The penultimate Episode 13 will also be a 2 hour episode - it will only count as a single episode. This has never happened before!!!

Whilst many SURVIVOR series have double episodes they usually count as 2 episodes. They didn’t this series. Absolutely this cast is 20 strong with cast mates who return to the fold so it needed those extra long episodes to fit it all in.

Yeah I thought it was a little longer. There had already been some 2 hours episodes and noticed there was another this week. I think normal seasons are 14 episodes. This one is 15.

The episode count total will still 14 + reunion like almost every other series but as two double 2hour episodes counted as singles for the firs time ever it’s really 16 episodes + reunion.

In fact SURVIVOR: WINNERS AT WAR has had increase of viewership numbers by 1.5 million & up to 2 million on ISLAND OF THE IDOLS. The ratings have been a success for CBS as the players battle a war for a $2MILLION prize.

As usual. They have done that the last couple of years.

Struggling a bit with how this season is playing out. I just don’t think the players are living up to the Winners At War hype. As usual they’ve left it too late to get rid of a couple of the likely winners, particularly Tony. How has he not had a huge target on his back this season? Can’t the others see he’s a shoe in if he makes it to the final 3? Particularly Sarah, is she delusional enough to think she’d win against him?

I don’t think Tony has played well enough to win a season like this, full of supposed champions. Although he’s played better than most of them - what does it say about the others? Many of them seem so timid.

I’ve got a theory that because they’ve won before they actually lack some drive. Maybe they’re a bit more financially stable, maybe it’s because they have less to prove? I don’t know but there’s something amiss.

I also think Ben and Adam both seem troubled in a way. Is there a downside to winning for some?

Anyway I am still enjoying it but I’d love to see someone come back from exile and win. Natalie or even Nick. But not Rob, Amber or Parvati - all three very overrated this season.

Oh I forgot about the finale. Glad I am working from home I might set myself up in my lounge room tomorrow to watch this haha

I really enjoyed the finale. I really enjoyed the getting back in challenge and having everyone who didn’t quit on the jury. I really hope the Australian version uses this adaption.

Pity there was no reunion. I feel they could have extended this season by a week.
