Wouldn’t be surprised if customers just stole those too
Does anyone know if David Jones will be closing at Ringwood in Victoria by January of next year? I saw somewhere that it may occur.
If you’re on skyscraper city, someone did randomly post about it… but I’m not sure of the original source.
That is where I saw it few months ago.
Just a rumor right now. No official word yet, although I wouldn’t be surprised.
That’s the first time I hear about DJ closing its Eastland store.
Was at my local Coles. It felt more like a bird place rather than a supermarket. There were a few snall birds flying around inside the shop
Are you in Melbourne? I feel this is a very Melbourne thing.
We get birds in our shopping centres here in Newcastle all the time, though mostly in the food court.
Also here in Brisbane; mainly in the main part of the centre.
As closing time looms for Brisbane's iconic Myer store in the heart of the city, there are big savings to be had. 🛍️

No, i used to be.
I live somewhere in QLD. Been here since 2019.
The pics were also taken just yesterday too
Coles . Got an email saying i had been selected to get a free packet of Coles Urban Coffee Culture 10 pack of Nespresso coffee pods worth $4. Offer ends next Thursday . i usually shop on Friday. I went in store today.
Felt so weird to go to the self service checkout tap my flybuy card , scan the product and walk away without paying . I made sure to get a receipt when it asked if i wanted to in case they thought i was stealing.
I get offered one or two items almost every week now. This week it was Gatorade No Sugar and Urban Coffee Grounds, last week it was Ice Break Double Shot.
I think I’ve had one in the last 5 offers that the item was actually in stock to get. Sure an occasional free item is nice, but when the experience is usually trying to track down where they keep it and then seeing an empty shelf, it doesn’t make it worth bothering to check the app to activate it.
I really hope this works out but at the same time Toys R Us doesn’t have the best track record (Time Square store, already failed comeback attempt, etc). But I still think the name is too iconic to go away and believe there is a way to make it in today’s retail climate and hope this goes well.
Tbf, they at least persevered in trying to make it turn a profit, 14 years isn’t a bad innings for what ended up being a money pit. Besides, they only got out of it once the rent costs quadrupled, even before their bankruptcy they’re were struggling hard.
There’s a good video about it and the general decline of TRU here. Recommend giving it a watch.
