When I was up in Coffs Harbour for a few days back in June 2018, it was the opposite, in which 2HC had a local afternoon program, whilst 2PM was taking Brent Bultitude from Newcastle on afternoons.

I think 2HC’s afternoon host, Denise Anderson, may be on holidays.

I wonder if BOG will lose the Crocmedia shows too. Someone listening to Talkin Sport called in to stir the pot a bit and mentioned a new sports channel was on air. Grahame Hughes deflected him as he didn’t want to go there which is fair enough.

No, it’s not.

They should’ve been prepared with a witty comment when the inevitable called in.

They had diversity uplinks with the DMGRR acquisition back in the MMG days.

Albury to Bendigo and Townsville to Charters Towers which of course should’ve been agreed to shift out when the Dobson & Morris couples bought Charters Towers.

Unsure of Bunbury had an alternative uplink site as it was from Rural Press days.

Also Gold Coast as an uplink site from RG Capital days.

So did SCA decide to not to invest in the upkeep of the regional sites?

Coffs Harbour 2HC announcer Denise Anderson is off on personal leave at the moment. The local content will be back soon.
IP sat backup is getting closer too!

The SCASat system rendered those regional sites redundant.

Wow, what a waste. Good on SCA, spending lots of money to replace systems of which lots of money had already been invested.

Are BOG a multinational company? I justed listened to the NBN news.

Where to now? Where can 90.5 FM go? I know 2RPH are on Sugarloaf. Can they be directional there and low power and point to the problem area? (Although is the westside of Lake Macquarie doesn’t have good coverage from Sugarloaf.

Or better still share the community radio station tower Lake Macq FM?

Not as far as I know. Looks like the councillor was trying to make sure they didn’t sound like some poor Aussie battler company.

The obvious spot for it to go is on the Belmont North Comms tower near the southern end of Violet Town Road… its where the local UHF repeaters are, and where it should have gone in the first place.

It’s less than 1km from the unauthorised site that it was on.

But that would cost more money than this botched cost and we know Bill is an aficionado at being miserly.

In the long run, yes, it would have cost more, but given there would have been significantly higher set up costs in erecting his own tower, power supply etc, I wonder how long would have it taken him to offset his installation costs against the higher rental costs on the existing approved Violet Town Road tower?

And by the way, I drove past the illegal tower on Sunday, the tower itself is still there, but the FM antenna at the top had been taken off.

A fairly decent storm just went over Dubbo and the exact same thing happened again. Not for as long this time with the intense rain lasting about 15min. Back on again now. Triple M was fine, parallel to 105.1. Great lightning show!

While in this thread I’ll mention again that I enjoy the 80s to now mix on zoo and the SRN FM regionals. Have been defaulting to it over triple M while working.

Agree about the SRN FM music, one of the better music mixes, and a hell of a lot better than their AM network talk

Dubbo is quite lucky to have Triple M and Zoo now, the two together provide a bit of variety and choice

Agree, better now that Dubbo has Triple M than Hit, as the two have playlists that are a bit more different, as ZOO doesn’t play much rock.

I will be interested to see how Triple M rates in the provincial and regional markets next year, given how they struggle in metro areas generally. They’ll probably still outrate NEW FM in Newcastle (you could have Big Dog doing karoake on MMM and it would probably still outrate NEW…).

I have read on Dean Mackin’s Facebook page that he will be filling in again on the network from 20 December for a few weeks over Christmas - thought I would mention it here

That’s a surprise. I thought he ended on a bad note with the network?
