I think it’s safe to say the SRN streaming rollout has commenced. Doubt it’ll be via any formal app, or even any smart speaker (apart from 2SM via TuneIn). But it’s better than nothing.

Depends on the station. There’s actually quite a bit of local content on some of them, e.g. 2MG, 2RE and Cruze FM. I think 4KZ remains live and local from 0600-1800 weekdays as well.
Not to forget Now FM. It’s been a while since I’ve listened to @hatdj

Yes, there’s a lot of variation in the local content.
I think 2GF sister station FM104.7 is local 6am to 5pm?
You’ll find over time, they’ll be picked up by most radio apps.
I see that ARN sales represent SRN… Regional Network - ARN
Maybe they’ll eventually appear on iheartradio

I think I’d still prefer that to networked shows.
I’m a bit on the fence with that. I think IF a networked show is actually live and engaging, it’s better than a voice tracked “local” show. I think it’s about the quality of the music and talk elements. I think if a show is truly live it’s easy to pick over voice tracking.

Haven’t seen radio station bumper stickers on cars for years now.
Even if stations gave them out nowadays, I doubt people would put them on their cars ??

That didn’t stop people back in the old days, and people arguably had more pride in their cars back in than they do now… Cars in general don’t get as well looked after these days.

Times change. Back in the 70s and 80s they were considered fun but somewhere along the way it became tacky to brand your car with a message.
These days people brand their own skin with tattoos. I’m sure that eventually this will be deemed tacky and tastless too.
