I see Tim Webster is now Tim Wilson on the 2SM website (as of 09.23 02/07/25). What a giggle… They can’t even get that right!

This points to how much ā€œlistenersā€ aren’t really ā€œhearingā€ what is said (now doesn’t it). Or it could just be ingrained habit. Then it could point to IQ of the person involved.

Follow this example - Person XX walks around with a ph in their hand wondering if Cole’s is open at 5pm on a Sunday? Then goes - I know I’ll post on the local FB group and ask. Me - Why not using the same device and go to the Coles website and look for yourself? No they would rather look like an idiot on a public group… where they may not even get the right information to boot! I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen this!

It’s been fixed now. Also a better pic! No disrespect was ever directed at Tim himself, just so we are clear! The giggle was being had at the expense of SRN’s sloppiness.

We do that quite a bit here :stuck_out_tongue:

Dang! I just went to see if I could find anything about Ron Webster reading the news for them.

It took a few goes. At one point the picture said Tim Webster while the text lower down said Wilson.

Anyway hoping they add his podcasts from tomorrow, I’m not able to listen to his show live but would like to hear it later in the day to see what it’s like.

It’s essentially the same format show. Similar regular guests (US Report etc). Very interview-based with minimal callers. But I’d rather that, than hear Tim rely on music to fill the gaps.

The difference between Tim vs Ron’s show, is Tim is good at speaking from the heart, whereas I always felt Ron was reading his content.

It makes Tim’s show more of an opinion, rather than just delivering the news. He’s a true professional.

He wont last, too many brain cells and not a fan of conspiratorial crap, unless he shuts the rubbish down and makes the space his own.
Hmmmm.waiit and see.

Time watch is the ā€œeasy to fireā€ you period. Around the first 3 or 6 months while on probation in their contracts. That would be my guess… Be watching at these points! Just sayin…

The Hunter Today is now not only hosted by Dave Cochrane, but another Dave… (usual music host) Dave Wright hosts the show Thursdays & Fridays:

The Hunter Today - 2HD

It’s been that way since the start, Dave Cochrane never did the entire week, Dave Wright used to do weekends part time, then he took on a couple of 2HD Hunter today afternoons, then was put on NEW FM Afternoons, so he now does NEW FM afternoons 5 days a week & 2 days a week finishes his NEW FM shift & walks down the hall & into the 2HD studio to do Hunter today at 3pm.

2el, central west has quite a long reach but the "local " content consists of international music and pre rec stuff. Swirling round the plug hole ,overplay, lost adds, dead air. And then when it works its grumpy old men complaining about Labor and teenagers on scooters . Talk back needs intelligent moderation, not censorship. No wonder pete Davis left, the rubbish he put up with, unbelievable.

As of late last month, 2BS in Bathurst has reintroduced a local drive program, presented by Cerise Willis.

Nice. So does that mean 2BS are now local 6am-6pm weekdays outside of 9-12?

That’s pretty good! In line with their ā€œLocal Voicesā€ positioner.

I wonder why they won’t do the same with B-Rock again? It seems they haven’t replaced 6-9am, instead moving the Mornings announcer to Breakfast and likely going to the network at 9am weekdays.

Listening the other day…Local from 12-3, then 4-6. Talking Sport 3-4pm… which seemed a liitle odd.

BRock had a female presenter at breakfast not listed on the website…not sure of her name.

Think it’s Sez Sarz or something.

Trying to go back to the good old days of radio by local content is admirable but ,by god its boring, especially if its a lone presenter with a guest or two playing hits of the 60s .the golden days of radio are gone and the evolution of radio won’t include whatevers happening now ,circling round the plug hole.
