Is B-Rock local outside of breakfast?
No only breakfast is local
Jason Morrison has been announced as a regular with SRN’s Brent Bultitude Thursdays at 2pm.
Since most of the SRN stations don’t stream online, I thought I’d put together a compilation of IDs from all the AM SRN I can receive at my location at night:
Stations/IDs received include:
- 531 – 2PM (Kempsey)
- 567 – 2BH (Broken Hill)
- 639 – 2HC (Coffs Harbour)
- 900 – 2LM (Lismore)
- 972 – 2MW (Murwillumbah)
- 1080 – 2MO (Gunnedah)
- 1089 – 2EL (Orange)
- 1134 – 2AD (Armidale)
- 1143 – 2HD (Newcastle)
- 1188 – 2NZ (Inverell)
- 1242 – 4AK (Oakey)
- 1251 – 2DU (Dubbo)
- 1269 – 2SM (Sydney)
- 1350 – 2LF (Young)
- 1404 – 2PK (Parkes/Forbes)
- 1530 – 2VM (Moree)
You couldn’t receive 963 4WK? Here in Mt Gambier normally at night 4WK & 2RG are fighting out to see who comes out on top & most of the time it’s 4WK, despite Griffith being closer to Mt Gambier than Warwick.
At the times I checked, Triple M Riverina was dominant. But AM stations fade in and out, so probably 4WK does come in here at times.
2RG was probably nulled towards Mt Gambier to protect 5SE because it is a lot closer.
I checked the recordings more in depth. At times the two stations were 50/50 and you could hear both equally. Other times 4WK was dominant also. I probably decided not to include it since it just sounded like a jumbled mess.
Here’s a clip from when 4WK was dominant:
At the end of Toowoomba commercial, you can also hear an ID for Triple M Riverina MIA.
Most of the srn stations don’t stream? 2sm streams ,like a pensioner in the shower, but srn is still holding it in . And for good reason too. Like liability.
Looks way better than the first attempt. But don’t forget, they are still officially an AM station.
When I heard their IDs on 531 kHz via skywave, they didn’t even mention 531 - only 93.5.
didn’t they only change a few months ago?
Have they entered a 30-day or less simulcast period on AM and FM? If so, that’s a sign the old AM signal is about to be shut down.
i don’t think it’s a conversion. AFAIK 93.5 is technically a Port Macquarie translator for 531 kHz (2PM) Kempsey.
Nope, still officially an AM station. The ironic part is the Cruze FM AM signal gets into many parts of Coffs Harbour far better than the local 2HC. My understanding is that the 2HC radiation pattern goes west to Dorrigo and east out to sea. Lord Howe Island probably picks it up better than the Coffs CBD, lol.
In the 90s, 2MC 531 was very much a local station in Coffs. I remember the hairdresser at Boambee Bay Resort had it going with John Laws. Ditto for ROX FM.
SRN have reinstated local nights on B-Rock.
Can anyone confirm if other shifts will be localised too? A return to the original rock format?
Please Joan, plleeeeese. Give the tnt leftover the boot.
