Great to see SRN getting a professional web presence - it’s a cost effective way to upsell your radio advertising too. In many regional towns there would be limited local web options for small business
Good on SRN for getting websites up and running for all the stations. It looks like it’s still a work in progress - some domains aren’t working yet or are still displaying an old site, some stations have minimal information, missing on air schedules and/or contact information. The news articles seem to be mostly the same for all stations. But it’s a great starting point and using a good platform which is also used by ACE Radio, so it will be easy to main and designed specifically for radio networks running multiple websites.
That’s big news and sad news that 2BS is currently only local at weekday breakfast.
Let’s hope it is for summer only - with local arvos returning in 2025, along with some local weekend morning/afternoon shift.
Come on @ozbark, Ken Done was garish but artfully garish. He had a bit of style. Those logos do not.
Whomever designed those logos, I hope they see this discussion one day and wince badly.

Sad but local breakfast is still more than as required by the LCLC, regionals can be without the legislated minimum for weeks on end.
Also, how long since sale, Camplins to Caralis? Perhaps any post sale agreement has expired?

Camplins sold 2BS/BRock to Caralis back in June 2019, which is just over 5 years ago now.

"In the next few weeks we will release some exciting news about the return of the Hi Tide program. " - Hi-Tide Facebook page.
I wonder if this will still be on SRN or another network (or simply online)?
The program has been picked up Central Coast community station Coast FM, joining The Fishing Fellas.
Hi Tide, previously on 2KY & most recently on 2SM, will be joining The Fishing Fellas on Coast FM, starting from Saturday 11th January. The program will be titled The Fishing Fellas at Hit Tide.
Hats off to SRN. They’ve gotten all their new station websites online - including their own corporate website.
Well done to the new management team. This is extremely good news for regional radio - and the start of something good (considering other networks are going backwards in 2025).
Makes me confident that they’ll introduce streaming next year for at least the majority of the stations. I really want 2RE, assuming they still churn out the rarities in the local shifts.

I really want 2RE
Perhaps a TEF node within the coverage area would help? Not that you’d hog it for hours on end
Funny you should say that; when 2RE were still on 1557 I did tune to a Kiwi SDR node at Forster briefly to sample their programming. These nodes have multiple slots with dedicated sessions, though.
No announcer, straight music, no show IDs/program bumpers. Middawns. Sounds like James Yelland’s iTunes, not a coherently scheduled log.
Very un-Caralis like!
What network station was this on?
As 2RE Taree were like this for about 3 days in a row back in January, but we found later that was only because their satellite receiver was out of action so they had do that instead.
What was the music format?
What’s everyone’s verdict on Chris Smith’s new program on SRN Mornings?
A little odd seeing a comment on RadioToday from a former member here about the website and ACE mistifyingly implying a possible merger.
ACE is larger than just a radio company and as part of their business they run their own digital agency, that is why the 2SM website is much better and cleaner now, they’ve gone to market rather than do it internally, which they wouldn’t have the resources to do it like this.
I can’t see ACE and SRN merging.
An opinion piece by Jen Seyderhelm from Radioinfo:
“We are not here to make up the numbers. We are here to make a difference” – Chris Smith launches a new era for 2SM

RadioInfo (link in @TV-Expert’s post) had this:
This online presence is a giant leap forward from the previous SRN status quo where Bill Caralis kept all the details in his head and saw no reason to change to or embrace modern technology. It is a collaboration between the SRN and ACE Radio Network. ACE, as mentioned, is similarly family owned. They have been active in their support of Despina, George and Graham’s success, so much so that ACE’s Chief Marketing Officer Grant Johnstone guided them in establishing what you now see here: https://2sm.com.au/
Chris Smith off to a flyer this morning - two of the first three callers are from Victoria…
