Sure. “What’s your PB Prime Minister?”

Not sure what your point is

My point is it’s becoming annoying to see the same people come on here bagging the hosts they don’t like and suggesting changes. The show is number one for a reason and the correct decisions have been made for hosts and content. There’s no need to constantly undermine them.

Have a look at the trouble of revolving hosts over on Today or the struggle to even find hosts for News Breakfast. Sunrise is fine.

This is entirely subjective and doesn’t negate peoples right to criticize or critique the hosts for things as they see fit, that is not undermining them, it’s just commentary.

Don’t like it? Scroll past and don’t engage.

The show at the moment is far from fine.

There’s no consistency on this show too. Eddy only does a few days and now all of sudden Beretts is away randomly with no one filling in. Katie used to fill in but it seems not anymore.

It may be number one but I would suggest it’s by default. They’re all terrible programs. There’s no one clear excellent product.

People seem to be getting really hung up on not having the same person presenting across the whole week. We already know Edwina has been battling an illness and she has probably requested a lighter work schedule.

She’s job sharing with Monique or Sally who are also working on Weekend Sunrise or other news bulletins. Seven should be commended for being flexible and allowing their presenters to job share, especially for working mothers or when their staff are maternity or sick/recovery leave.

Isn’t it better to have them around than push them out of a job because they can’t do it full time? Same goes for David Woiwod working at Weekend Sunrise and as a fill-in on Sunrise or The Morning Show. Better to have a known presenter than a conga line of randoms.

We don’t know what’s going on there exactly. Maybe Beretts wants to work less hours too like Kochie did before retirement. He also covers a lot of weekend sport events which he obviously enjoys but couldn’t possibly do weekdays as well.

In regards to Katie filling in, she does seem to be there as a reporter when there is a breaking sport story but she can also be used as a Weather fill-in and do other subjects.

Maybe they’ve decided to use Shirvo’s expertise on sport and not spend more money on a fill-in sport presenter during the week, when there is less sport news to report. With cutbacks happening in commercial television, we can probably expect more job sharing and cuts everywhere.

Sounds like you’re willing to make allowances or apologies for Seven’s inconsistent rostering for Sunrise, but call out the same for Today and News Breakfast? Seems a bit hypocritical, regardless of the circumstances.

Plenty of things are number one and deserve critique. Kyle and Jackie O, MAFS, Great Northern Brewing Super Crisp Lager…the list goes on.

I just think more broadly the show is a shadow of what it used to be 10 years ago with Sam and Kochie at the helm.

Gone are the days of doing OBs like 5 countries in 5 days. Gone is the fun of the Cash Cow calls each morning. Gone is having the four hosts sitting on the couch together at various points during the morning. Gone is the public watching the program being filmed through the windows at Martin Place.

A sad decline.

Some things are better left behind and times change with other things.

The Cash Cow made the show a joke and most people lost interest in the novelty. The public gave up on watching the show through the windows at Martin Place a long, long time ago.

Why is the Cow back then?

Isn’t it only back for short stints?

It’s still back though.

The difference is they’ll run it for shorter stints so it’s still a bit of a novelty and not let interest wane.

I know it wasn’t always a daily thing. But why it isn’t again I think has far more to do with purse strings than viewer sentiment.

Its just not the same. Eveleigh is a step down from Martin Place

The public watching the program live as it is taped was inspiration from NBC’s Today show. Also performances from megastars like Usher and Katy Perry from Martin Place and the Sydney Opera House drew big audiences. The Pussycat Dolls were the last band to perform live on Sunrise Plaza before the pandemic. Seems a lifetime ago.
