Sunrise

I think shes great overall. Every host/newsreader has their strengths and weaknesses. Her interview style mustn’t be for everyone but I think shes more than capable and has been for a long time. Nothing wrong with preferring others on Today either.

She seems to have lost her personality along the way with getting the main gig. She used to be quite funny and poke fun at herself and much more relaxed. Now seems to be quite walled up.

The hosting role must come with more pressure, and perhaps she was concious of being in the shadow of her predecessor. I can see what you mean though she is more firm these days.

Would be nice to see them get back more of the Martin Place Nat/Mel/Kochie/Berretts vibe, the banter around Joke of the Week and Cash Cow segements always flowed well.

Although the show has evolved over time, perhaps this is just Nats hosting style

Aww come on it’s good for the nation

Sunrise live into Qld … because they’re expecting Albo to call the election?
It’s important , but really?

Well, if you believe those stories about the parliament prayer room… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

But back to Sunrise! I don’t watch much of it, but from what little I do see, I think Nat’s a safe pair of hands. I think that was probably needed after Sam went mad in her last year. That stability may be slightly boring but it’s important, especially so early in the post-Kochie era.

Also live in South Australia.

Shirvo interviewing David Crisafulli as the PM leaves the GG’s residence in the middle of it. He handled commentating on the PM and then returning back to Crisafulli really well. Smooth and seamless and then switched to a sport chat.
Shirvo really has come into his own as a presenter and interviewer.

Clock coverup in use

Show extended past 9:10 am this morning (AEDT); looks to be 10am finish

Shirvo left “early” racing to airport for special assignment with Nat and Mon taking over the closing segment of the show that finished at 10am AEDT

How often is Eddy appearing these days? 2, maybe 3 days a week?

I guess the inconsistency is not an issue if the ratings are still holding up.

Is that you Shirvo?

He is terrible end of story.

So you’ve had a go at David Woiwod, Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington. Is there any host at Seven you approve of? Or are.you a Nine fanboy all the way?

Eddy Mon- Wed, Mon the others That has been pretty consistent for 8 months+ now.

Beretts on two days again this week, which is up on the one that he was on the weeks before last

I’d be curious to know if it is Beretts’ own choice to be working reduced days.

I think I watch too much US morning TV. It’s less fluffy, hosts are not as fluffy, and it’s more serious at times. I find that interviews are somewhat more formal, it’s hard to take some anchors here seriously when they are very on and off serious and not.

Karl used to be a decent interviewer but that has fallen away over the years.

Dutton interview this morning was a train wreck. Deer in the headlights, speaking very quickly, clearly rattled,
no clear plan and unable to articulate.
Monique and David looked unimpressed and seemed frustrated that he wouldn’t really answer their questions.
That’s what I like about Mon, she will keep asking a question until she gets an answer

No he wasn’t. He was good and all over a range of topics and able to flip quickly between them all.

“Discussion” on back pain

Also seen including better coverage of QLD flooding than other services; Ben Downie in Greenland.

I reckon Larry Emdur should’ve been considered a replacement for Kochie at the time of his departure.

He is a great all-rounder like Koch in that he can cover both lighter stories with a sense of humour, and switch gears to cover serious news.

In terms of team chemistry, I just feel like Larry would’ve worked better with Nat, Eddy and Beretts considering how long they’ve all been at Seven together.
