That to me strikes as just poor writing. Even if the cross (presumably, I didn’t see it) is from Qld, you can easily be inclusive with writing - until you reveal the cross is in Qld.

It’s interesting how Sunrise and Weekend Sunrise have built up a team of back up hosts and presenters, using their newsreaders and reporters to fill-in when the regulars are away. Whereas Today seem to experiment with all sorts of other hosts.
