Katie Brown covering a cricket story today. Haven’t seen her in a while. For a regular, we only see her semi-regularly. Don’t know why they’d don’t use her for sport Tues-Thurs.
BBC Breakfast.
8/11/2025 Michael Usher co-presenting with Monique this morning.
I still think there are better fill-ins. Clearly either he has no interest in moving to morning tv permanently or they have no intention of asking him. So, why not give someone else a go?
Why? Maybe he’s only likes doing it sometimes.
Better having someone familiar than the rotating randoms that Today and News Breakfast do.
Nats Levi’s story about Qld teachers “backflipping” over a strike this Thursday is incorrect. There was never a strike voted on for this week; only rallies after work hours have been planned. She is just re-hashing the rubbish being written by the Courier-Mail. This is lazy, dangerous reporting.

I agree. There are more familiar fill-ins than Michael though; people within their ‘family’. As you say, Sunrise is good at this, except when it comes to the male host it seems. Harnessing talent and having a pool to draw from when they need a host is very handy. They got lucky that David is quite natural in the role, he is certainly an exception not the rule.
Ned Balme on Today no better. Clearly he has just got his story from the Courier-Mail as well without doing any research. Its misleading to say a planned strike has been called off.
I reckon Sunrise should tie in a giveaway with their daily Where in the World segment.. give clues for a week and a trip to that destination is the prize. Or guess it correctly to enter each day, a travel prize at the end of the week, something like that.
Sunday 9th November, 2025: Tarsh co-hosting with Mon. Sally presenting news and sport.
Great to see Natarsha filling in although its strange that Sally isn’t being used as host.
Is it because they are about the same age as The Golden Girls were when the show started?
Agreed, would make more sense with Sally as host and Tarsh on news.
But what about Saturday? Would you have put Musher on news and Sally co-hosting?
Goes to show that Seven doesn’t necessarily need to have the typical male and female co-presenting duo.
In 2015, Sam and Nat presented the main program while Chris Reason (a former co-presenter of the show) read the news headlines. Also note Simon Reeve, who was deputizing for Beretts.
Seven need to be careful though with all the stand-in presenters - yesterday was the lowest rated Weekend Sunrise episode this year*, Saturday was poor as well.
