Sunrise

More use of a jib this morning

The show kept the interest going in the Games with lots of live crosses to Glasgow well after the events had finished.

Seven didn’t waste any time returning Shirvo to the Sunrise hosting position after the Comm Games finished. Kyle Sandilands on the show this morning.

He would have had to leave Saturday at the latest to get home. I would hope he would have been given at least a premium economy seat if he is expected to be working pretty much straight away after a 20 hour flight. One would think not given Sevens cost cutting of late.

I thought the hosting part of the commonwealth games was all done from Sydney

From the bits I saw, I don’t agree

Matt White self-proclaimed “sports dude”

Sunrise, predictable in its unpredictability. Woiwood out for the weekend, no problem just get Matt White. All makes sense and looks normal. Shirvo away? No problem, get David. Nat busy? Get Mon, or Eddy or Sally. It’s a strength of the show. Compare to 9 and it’s a cavalcade of nobodies with each nobody looking more and more out of place. As a viewer it’s a lucky dip, or should we say an un-lucky dip. It’s such a simple formula that pays dividends. 9 has done generational damage to its brand. Shame that people internally at 9 keep getting overlooked when that has been a long-running strength at 7.
