Good on Monique for continually pushing Simon Birmingham to answer the question she asked (he still didn’t). He’s a regular on weekday Sunrise (not sure why) but he’s never challenged then on anything he says.
PM on Sunrise this morning - didn’t have an easy time; lots of finger pointing going on. Next story was fuel prices.

But again he wasn’t pushed to answer the question he was asked. He rambled on and got in all his talking points, uninterrupted.
By contrast, earlier in the show, both Barnaby Joyce and Nat pushed Tanya Plibersek to answer the question Barnaby asked.
Yeah Nat did ask questions that challenged their policy but I don’t think he actually answered a single one. She didn’t push for an answer.
Do you remember what time Mon’s interview was on Sunday (so I can watch)?
Given I commented about that after my comment about the News Feed, I’d say in the 8-9 hour, possibly 8-8.30?
It was pretty clear Tanya didn’t know the answer to the question though. She should have just said she didn’t know.
Oops… 7 Melbourne ran a Sunrise promo during tonight’s episode of Big Brother, which ended with the tagline “Sydney’s #1 breakfast show”…
Yeah I saw it a few times last night.
Perhaps, but she did eventually answer. That said, who is the interviewer? It’s not Barnaby’s place to ask the questions. Nat needed to take control earlier.
Sunrise continuing their bias this morning choosing to only mention one opinion poll (conducted by 9 which really doesn’t have a great reputation for accuracy), and ignoring others which show a much wider gap. They love the drama of “a tightening race”, even saying “game on”.
Then saying Albo refused to answer questions about funding, when he clearly said yesterday it would be released on Thursday. Again, beat up.
Coalition funding released yesterday, but not a word of analysis?
And a significant interview of Scomo on ACA last night, but again not a mention?
It’s the most recent poll so of course it would get a mention.
Reports are suggesting that other polls being released today will also show a tightening.
I’ve already seen those polls online this morning, so Sunrise would have them. Still 53-47.
Seems I was wrong about the coalition’s costings. Just saw a clip of Josh Frydenberg on Sunrise yesterday. Was a very calm interview where he was allowed to give a full explanation, Kochie even assisting him explain with a favourable question.
I have no doubt any interview about Labor’s costings later in the week will be just as civil, and the shadow treasurer will also be allowed to explain their costings, uninterrupted and without question.
Overall both Nine and Seven are bias towards the LNP during this whole election campaign. and they are starting to get desperate as they know the gap is exceeding the margin of error so what happened in 2019 isn’t going to happen so they are trying every trick in the book to try and get more votes. and also given Nine have Peter Costello on their board it doesn’t surprise me. In my view former members of parliament shouldn’t be allowed on the board of any media outlet.
It has been much more noticeable this election cycle. They have been disgraceful. Partisan cheerleading by allegedly reputable news sources.
Joe Hildebrand disputed the validity of the poll today… Nat interrupted him saying he should declare his interests as he works for the people behind the opposing poll; he countered that with the fact that he also works for the group behind this poll.
The methodology this time was apparently different and included phone calls as well, making comparison invalid.
Late change: Weekend Sunrise extended until 11:00 am on election day Saturday.
Wasn’t that already announced previously?
Up until the schedule received today, Weekend Sunrise was finishing at 10 am.
You posted this 6 days ago so I probably presumed it would be until 11am:
All-day coverage of the decider will begin with an extended edition of Weekend Sunrise from 7.00am as well as a special one-hour national news from 4.00pm.
