Next time Monique’s away or filling in for Nat on weekdays they should really give Tarsh a go at hosting with Matt. Might make Matt happier when hosting.

Monique banter aside - which I don’t think was the point of the comment, Matt does seem grumpy or moody often on air.
I think we need to take into account the cheeky banter they had at 10 was over a decade ago, and what may have worked then, may not work now.
The Matt Doran I see now, is completely different to the Matt Doran I saw on Network 10, 10-15 years ago… as would be expected when you grow out of your twenties and start to settle down in life.

Matt Shirvington is co-hosting with Nat this morning. Monique Wright is reading the news and Tamra Bow is doing the weather from NZ again today.
Nat has been doing Showbiz for most of the week, filling in for Nelson.

Not a fan. The pre-8am cross that I saw was very awkward. She can read the weather and probably can report on stuff but she’s not great at ad-libing to non-studio.

Sunrise has already annoyed me 3 times this morning and we’re only 10 mins into the program:
- we’re back to random music in the opener, why?
- so much hype in the opener about the weather in Qld, but as the story evolves with their live crosses, the situation has actually eased and is not as bad as previously predicted
- “Labor on track to win as Anthony Albanese’s approval takes a hit”… when the preferred PM numbers they display actually show Scomo going back one point and Albo steady. (Yes i know there’s other net approval ratings etc in polling but that’s rarely reported and certainly wasn’t what they showed or were commenting on).

@spw68 I came on to say exactly the same.
The WS opener is back to being very sensationalistic. As they used a grab of the Qld Premier telling flood residents not be anxious, they played hyped up music and dramatically zoomed up on her face (ACA style).

News Feed begins at 7.58 this morning, then a long intro to the first topic from Matt. Seriously, why bother?
I’ve mentioned this before; they really need to start the segment at 7.55 at least.
