Sunrise (2020-Feb 2025)

Are you sure?

He is a human being. He has a family and commitments too…

He shines in the field though…that might be his preference too.

Didn’t say he isn’t and doesn’t.
Simply asked the question, which was immediately answered and I “liked”.
I wasn’t aware he didn’t present the 6pm bulletin last night. I don’t live in Sydney.

Any word on the return of the Cash Cow?

I mean, that was the better part of 2 decades ago. I think he’d have moved on.

No and good riddance. We don’t need it back.

We can only hope it’s permanently retired.

Scotch fillet, anyone? :cut_of_meat:

Cash Cow was last seen taking a “cruise” to Indonesia.

Our hosts this morning has a bit of trouble wrapping up a report on the latest supermarket offer from Coles ambassador Courtney Roulston who just kept talking until they gave her the ‘chop’ and walked off set.

They were trying to hurry up too many guests not just the Coles lady on today’s show. It’s a regular occurrence on the weekend show, probably because the show ends right on 10am unlike the week day show that goes over time most days and passes on to the Morning Show about 10 past the hour. Just let them talk catch it up later on.

Today’s show they had too much time to catch up and went to weather before closing the show. Where is if they let some of their other guests finish there would not be as much time to catch up.

It looks bad. But yes it’s a fine line.

Could work for them though. I only caught a small bit of Weekend Today this morning but it seemed quite slow and drawn out so maybe the fast pace in intentional?

Maybe but one of the good things about the weekend show is that they have more time to have interviews etc than the weekday show. For example they don’t need to fit in 3 interviews between 7am and 7:30. They just need to do a better job of hurrying up the guests if they are talking too much so it doesn’t look like they are doing it .

Maybe having less ad breaks during the 7am hour would also help. As I have said before, the ads in Weekend Sunrise are too frequent especially during the 7am hour. Having ads every Ten minutes approx is not a good experience.

Monday 21 February-

Mark Beretta is back in the studio with the team this morning.

Good national cross-promotion for the bulletin. Unsure about it’s relevance to the Sunrise audience though and baffled how it got up in the production meeting. Perhaps they are unaware that the bulletin only serves one market half the size of Adelaide and that not even Brisbane gets to see her performance???

Orders from upstairs I would imagine.

Same reason that Rick and Sue were on a couple of weeks back.

I guess it still looks good for 7 in general. They now have one of Australia’s best known Olympians in their ranks. Other markets don’t need to see her actually read the news to still get some benefit out of her association with the network.

I really do expect Sally to appear on more programs than just 7GC. Providing commentary on sports stories for Sunrise/TMS seems like a good way to justify her position. Even occasionally presenting sport for 4pm or the morning news could be a good move to get more bang for their buck.

Who’s this reporter? Looks like Mac Horton (I know it’s not).
