I feel that the local inserts could be limited to the top of the hour. The flow of the show seems to be interrupted too much with updates every 30 minutes; seems more like a news bulletin than a morning breakfast show.

Could they be doing it every half hour to justify Bianca’s position/pay? Otherwise she’d just be sitting there for 45-50 minutes waiting for the next bulletin. Bit of a waste.

I don’t think it’s the frequency, just how it’s presented. Because they do local news/sport/weather first then national news/weather, it feels clunky. Bit like an extended news update than a news bulletin I’d say.
Sam Mac’s the one that should be recording the local weather inserts. It’d address both the timing and flow issues.

Despite the return of the main hosts, Sunrise received another week of lower than average ratings with poor results particularly in Sydney and Melbourne. Adelaide weaker than they need it to be too, IMO.
Comparatively, Today was up on the lower summer results and back on par with their 2021 yearly average. Sunrise won week 4 by just 20k.

From the ratings thread I can see Sunrise was ahead on Tuesday and Thursday, tied on Friday, no idea of Monday.

According to this article (scroll to the bottom to see the part about Sunrise), Eddy will return from her maternity leave in early 2023, meaning different newsreaders on the show for the rest of 2022. Rebecca Maddern is one name being thrown around.
