Sunrise (2015-Sept 2020)

It appears Sunrise is actually giving way to Olympics coverage when warranted from today. Seems a bit more serious today as I noticed Sam has been slammed for her performance yesterday and the entire show was slammed on Media Watch last night because of last week.

Make that four.

Todays Olympic Sunrise was much better than yesterdays IMO

I agree. Much better. I would say that with the proper presenters back on board there was more stability. And even the producers who travelled to Rio were prob in transit on Monday.

Good point. Hadn’t thought of that. Having the team all on deck really helped. They even went to the effort of recolouring the flipper today to green for Rio when it was still orange yesterday.

Looks tacky, I hate it when networks tamper with their graphics packages like that. As if Sunrise’s weren’t already bad enough

Why the hell did they think it was a good idea to move the clock over to the right?

Doesn’t line up properly with any of the other graphics at all, and frankly looks terrible in that spot in my opinion

The clock is fine there but the watermark should move over

Hasn’t the clock been on the rhs since the new graphics began?

Yes but it used to be centred under the logo.

Media Watch opened on Monday with a story about Sunrise

And it being Brazil, they were naturally down at the beach to bring us bums, breasts, bikinis and near naked bodies.

And in fact it was so good they came back several times in the broadcast for more of the same.

But Sunrise wasn’t the only breakfast show with stories like this. This is NBC Today with Jenna Bush & Hoda Kotb putting body oil Tonga Olympic flag-bearer.

As an aside…
Did I read the Tongan flag bearer is from Brisbane?

His mum is an Aussie so he either lives here or spends his time between Australia and Tonga.

I think the clock is in the far right position on the flipper rather than its usual position centered under the logo as it is being put on differently while Sunrise is live in each market into three timezones.

I briefly saw a graphic on a tweet from 7 this morning which mentioned the audience for Sunrise as being the highest for this year to date. It had a combined metro + regional figure. Now for the life of me I cannot locate the tweet. Did anyone else see this?

Extended edition tomorrow

So tomorrow Sunrise will dip in and out of Australia v USA in men’s basketball, while either 7TWO or 7mate will show the whole match live.

Just what everyone wants, hey.

Sunrise did well on Tuesday morning because they actually showed sport - the Rugby Sevens took up a large fraction of the program even including medal ceremony. The Sunrise studio was only seen briefly during that time. This morning they were back to the fluff so I would expect the numbers to be closer to Monday’s result.
