So Eddy is in Hollywood but not actually on the red carpet it appears. Whatâs the point of her even being over there when sheâs only standing outside a building in Hollywood (edit: The Dolby Theatre) and she canât get on the red carpet, she has to cross to some NBC reporter there?? Is she going to be allowed inside later on to file a report about the Oscars for the news but not just not live on TV on the red carpet? There has to be some point as to why she made the long trek there other than to stand outside some random building, after just being in South Korea for two to three weeks.
Maybe it was going to cost too much to cancel flights and accommodation at the last minute? So they stuck with it.
Sheâs probably going to attend after parties and get interviews with stars, as they usually do.
Itâs not some random building. Itâs the Dolby Theatre - the venue for the Oscars for nearly 20 years.
Decision made.

Basil Zempilas joins Weekend Sunrise
Australiaâs favourite weekend brekky show welcomes giant of television
Towering in both stature and experience, Weekend Sunrise is thrilled to announce journalist, broadcaster and sports commentator Basil Zempilas as the newest member of the team.
From Saturday, the father-of-three takes on the role of co-host alongside long-time friend and colleague, Monique Wright.
Basil will be no stranger to Weekend Sunrise viewers, with his broadcasting roles for the Seven Networkâs coverage of AFL, the Australian Open, Olympic Games, Racing and more.
Commenting on his new role, Basil said: "For years Iâve watched and thought how much fun it would be to be part of the Weekend Sunrise team.
âTurns out I was right. Iâve loved every moment filling in on the show over the last six months and I canât wait to work alongside Monique every weekend."
Monique added: âWe needed a lanky uncle who is mad about sport in the family, now weâve got him! Basil is a tower of a person â literally. His wonderfully generous and fun personality is matched only by his 6ft 5 frame. His energy and knowledge over a wide range of areas will be a wonderful addition to the Weekend Sunrise family.
âWe have known each other for more than 20 years and are firm friends, so Iâm really looking forward to sharing the desk with such a brilliant person. His self-deprecating humour is simply a joy and he has already given me permission to rib him about everything⌠so this is going to be a lot of fun!â
Seven Network Director of News and Public Affairs, Craig McPherson, said: âBasil is a bundle of energy on and off screen. He has a serious passion for news and everyday issues which will no doubt come to the fore in his new role. He has many strings to his bow which have been relatively untapped. Heâll excel alongside Monique and the terrific team at his new home on Weekend Sunrise.â
This year marks Basilâs 25th year in the media industry. Basil will continue his role as sports anchor for Seven News Perth and his commentary duties on Sevenâs AFL coverage around his Weekend Sunrise commitments. Basil also co-hosts the popular 6PR Breakfast Show with Steve Mills.
Next month, he will lead the call alongside Ian Thorpe and Giaan Rooney for Sevenâs coverage of the swimming at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
No, no, no, no
Uh oh Mitchell doesnât approve. Prepare for impact in 5, 4, 3, 2, âŚ
7 News Perth posted that Basil was joining Weekend Sunrise and viewers have really hit back saying they want to see less of him⌠so thatâs pretty interesting.
I donât understand the outreach, he isnât that bad
Yeah I donât get it either, he has personality which is key for the role. The only thing I might say is that he is a pretty bad commentator but that doesnât have anything to do with news.
I really donât know about his commentating⌠haha usualyl during the footy, i have it on mute! Coz i canât stand commentators in general!
He should be a good addition to the Sunrise Weekend team. Letâs hope he does well.
Serious question: Although I probably wouldnât expect him to work seven days a week for an extended period of time, do we even know if Bazil Zempilas will be leaving his longtime role as sports presenter on Seven News Perth? In any case, Iâm sure heâll continue to have connections to Perth through Telethon and stuff like that.
Great news. Baz is great on Sunrise.
He will be more watchable than Pete Stefanovic, thatâs for sure.
Thatâs a good question, I assume he would be moving to Sydney and most likely take on a reporting job at Seven Sydney. It would be interesting if he chose to Stay in Perth and then having to commute every week for just one day of Sunrise?
