It may be interesting to note that Sunrise did not have a 5:30 opener this morning, rather they just played the ending of it with the song & the usual wide shot of the team at the desk before going straight to Eddy for the day’s news. They did have openers at 6:00 and 7:00 as per usual. This has happened on the odd occasion before but I always think it’s unusual to not have an opener particularly right at the very start of the program.
I think Nat will be back in Sydney next week.

@TV.Cynic do you have any latest ratings for Weekend Sunrise? Just interested to see how the show’s going lately.

Jennifer Hudson instagramming her performance for Sunrise. Did she perform this morning or pre-record for during the week?
Weekend Sunrise has won every week so far. Today has won a couple of Sundays and one Saturday. Sunrise is ahead by an average of approx 35,000.
Sunrise won last week by 4,000 - Today had been ahead until Friday.

What a colourful career. I love that after he wanked on air he was blacklisted in Australia but New Zealand welcomed him with open arms before he read the news high on ice.

I never realised how much effort the national Sunrise team put into their crosses to the local Perth News, with a specialised V/O and intro. Much better than Today in this aspect (opposite for the local presentation though).

Personally, I find it really annoying how much they are trying to push the Sunrise Perth News in WA and it is too over the top that they find it necessary to do it every half hour after 7am when the stories are virtually exactly the same each half hour. If they really find it necessary to do Perth News for WA they should just do it once each hour on the hour from 6am in my honest opinion. I find it really irritating how as of this week, they are now advertising the Perth news even with a specialised promo with Amelia Broun, not even Matt Tinney who is the official Sunrise Perth newsreader, and through in-program advertising too. This just feels like too much to me, they don’t need to advertise it like this do they? I thought Sunrise was already doing well with the ratings in WA particularly like most other Seven programmes and the news especially?

Agree that it is much better. I saw the Today version on YouTube and it was just so horrible (the throw)
