Sunday Night

What a load of crap !

Why have Sunday Night recently been repackaging overseas documentaries as “specials”?

Cost cutting, lack of resources or original ideas for new stories, they know it’ll probably rate…

Plus chucking it under the Sunday Night banner extends the brand for a further week in the year.

And people are more likely to watch Sunday Night because it’s ingrained rather than a one-off doco that is a stand alone.

Four Corners does this. Nothing new.

But royal insiders now believe Meghan is the one, with an engagement tipped for early next year. So, just who is Meghan Markle? And what was her connection to Diana, Princess of Wales, that brought her and Harry together? Join Melissa Doyle for this must- see royal event, exclusive to Sunday Night.

DAWN
It may come as a shock to her millions of fans, but there was a time when Dawn French didn’t think she’d be around for her 60th birthday. It seems hypocritical for Sunday Night to be running this report that seems to be celebrating the defamation judgement when Seven has joined Bauer’s appeal again it.

They have? I thought they would have been on Rebel’s side from how they’ve reported it on Sunrise & Seven News etc

I was thinking the same thing. Is that still happening? Does Rebel know?

The Australian reported last week “In a rare moment of solidarity at least four news organisations are hoping to join Bauer in its legal appeal over the $4.5 million defamation verdict awarded to Rebel Wilson. News Corp Australia, the Seven Network, Nine Network…”

Rebel has said that she will donate the money coming to her from Bauer to charity/industry groups…but what about the money she is earning from giving interviews like this? Seven are probably paying her hundreds of thousands of dollars and are probably just the tip of the iceberg if her management can rustle up interest overseas.

Or is it just a promo interview for her latest movie which Seven are making look different in the promos?

This. Pitch Perfect 3 is being released some time over Christmas/New Year.

It wouldn’t be the first time Seven’s promos have misrepresented the show especially after last week’s “Royal Event” “on the eve of the big announcement” turned out to be nothing of the sort. Great to see Gogglebox trash that program this week.

Indeed. 22 December 2017.

The promo is clearly about the defamation case with v/o saying “It’s not over yet” and a graphic about Bauer’s appeal.

REBEL WITH A CAUSE
We know she’s funny, but there is so much more to Australian actress Rebel Wilson than the characters she plays. In a few weeks’ time, Rebel makes a triumphant return to the big screen with the latest instalment of her hit movie franchise, Pitch Perfect. But it’s been a challenging few years for Rebel, whose career was dealt a savage blow just as it was taking off after a spiteful campaign by some of Australia’s biggest women’s magazines. With movie offers drying up, Rebel took the tabloids to court and won a multi-million-dollar defamation suit. Although the vicious court battle was settled in her favour, Rebel wants to speak for the first time about how devastating it was. And as Sunday Night’s Melissa Doyle discovers on set with Rebel in Spain, her fight is far from over.

FACE OF EVIL
He was the wild-eyed leader of a murderous cult that went on a deadly rampage at the height of the 60s. But this week, at the age of 83, Charles Manson died peacefully in hospital. And it’s only now his former lover, Diane Lake, feels she can reveal what life was really like living with one of the 20th century’s most notorious killers.
