Seeing Neighbours is going to air year round as of next year, Seven might have to do the same with H&A to deny the former having a ‘free kick’ during Summer

I always thought Neighbors time off air was shorter than Home and Away’s generally.

Variety reports that Seven have picked up the rights for the ITV produced documentary “Prince Harry & Meghan: Truly, Madly, Deeply”.

Neighbours had been having four weeks off over summer. From 2018 they will only take some public holidays off but have a few double episodes which should balance it out to one episode for every weekday.

Channel 5 might request it so they don’t have to schedule alternative programming in the break. However, I believe they are still a few weeks behind Aussie.episodes anyway so no rush yet.

As per their weekly schedule, Seven are telling viewers next week’s 10th episode of The Good Doctor is the “season final” even though there are 18 episodes in Season 1.

Should Seven continue with its contractual obligation to produce X number of episodes of Home and Away for overseas markets, even though it may affect the network’s Thursday scheduling and eventually the show’s ratings?

It will come down to whether it’s a good financial decision for them. Ten are obviously making enough out of selling Neighbours to overseas markets if they can live with it attracting 150k viewers an episode here (although they have a much lower success threshold)
