As has often been said, lucky Seven has high rating news* as the network was pushed into third place, main channel and network, for the second Sunday of the 2023 survey. Nine was a 10 point winner from second placed ABC while 10 got a boost from 10 Bold’s coverage of the Matildas for its best Sunday share of the year. No surprises that Nine won the demos with 10 second (main channel and network).

No change in the reality rankings as Married at First Sight lifted to a new season high. That was after last Sunday’s episode was the first to top one million in 7 day consolidated. Survivor was again second continuing with good demos results despite dropping 10k from the previous Sunday. Idol’s Top 24 performance show saw no improvement, ranked fourth in its timeslot and down 10k form last Sunday.

A new episode of Vera gave ABC a big boost with 653,000 tuning in while Death in Paradise also eclipsed much of the commercial competition.

Later, 60 Minutes slipped below 500k in preliminary numbers while Seven’s repeat Kylie V Bee Gees was equal with 10’s War Zone special featuring Bear Grylls Meets President Zelenskyy.

10 Bold topped the multis with its soccer coverage while cricket continued to do well for Foxtel.

*Edit- and Perth!

Vera putting a lot of commercial opposition to shame.

Not a good look for 60 minutes to lose half the audience. The story (while important) felt like it was dragged on for way too long.

Does anyone know when MAFS finishes this year?

Channel Nine will surely want to ride this wave for as long as they can.

I’m not afraid to admit I am a fan. I could watch this shit every night lol .

This season has 36 episodes - last night was (if I’m correct) the 13th episode.

That means MAFS should finish on Wednesday March 29, unless Nine pushes back the reunion episodes to the following week (first week of Easter non-ratings) to compete against the new season premiere of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

It’s not even a case of Idol performing poorly in light of competition, but the fact that Seven’s repeating yet another one of those cheap clip shows on a Sunday that has led to them from being a distant second to the ABC beating them with two foreign shows.

Where’s Spotlight? It should’ve returned when 60 returned. Or is it just another case of Seven playing it cheap and nasty on Sunday because they’ve spent all their money on their tentpole?

Its figures were very good nonetheless.
I’d say 500k in the current climate is the equivalent of 1 million 10 years ago.

New drama works well for the ABC. Not much for the commercial station these days.

There’s no slowing down for Married at First Sight. Not my cup of tea, but well done for Nine for having a hit, after so many seasons of the show.

Poor Australian Idol. Even the gimmicks of “the touchdown” couldn’t lure fans back. Sure, it finished in the top 10 for the night, but i expected half a million viewers at the least. Fot next season, air it in the winter months.

I doubt there will be a next season. It will be interesting to see if Australian Idol ruins the ratings of Australia’s Got Talent and The Voice now.

We can live in hope.

The demos for Idol are pretty bad as well.

Aaaah, yes, Australia’s Got Talent and The Voice. I forgot about AGT returning. Then i agree with oversaturated with three similar talent-shows. I do hope that they do hold up in the ratings (AGT and The Voice), so time will tell. Fingers crossed.

I think there are not enough episodes on the shelf and new stories are still being filmed.
