A long weekend in some states looks to have impacted Sunday viewing with many overnight numbers down on recent results. Network shares were within one point of last week with Nine maintaining a +10 point lead over Seven while ABC’s main channel was again second. 7Bravo posted its lowest share so far.

Married at First Sight topped the night despite dropping 123,000 from the previous commitment ceremony to its lowest Sunday in five weeks. Next best in the reality stakes saw Australian Survivor down 35k though still one of its best results of the season. Australian Idol dropped 35k to its lowest Sunday audience of the revival.

Meanwhile Vera and Death in Paradise bucked the downward trend to maintain their audiences week-on-week for ABC.

Earlier, Nine News was within 20k of Seven’s bulletin at 6pm while 10 News 6pm made a rare appearance in the top 20.

Later in the night 60 Minutes was up slightly on the previous week while Seven’s post reality offering Ed Sheeran v Adele did 194,000 roughly the same as last week’s 7News Spotlight special that was marked down after time adjustment for an Idol overrun.

In the afternoon the Supercars drew 197,000 on Seven.

Foxtel picked up some good numbers for Rugby League and cricket.

I can’t recall the last time Seven had the third ranked main channel so many Sundays in a row, you’d probably have to go back to early 2000s and if you remove news from the equation, probably more like a 13% share

These are the lowest ratings figures of this India-Australia test series to date, as India batted almost all day to reach 571 in the first innings.

It appears that my prediction that MAFS had already reached a series peak last Sunday night was spot on.

However it will be interesting to see what happens this week with the “partner swap” idea because I feel whilst this will be very entertaining for a few nights, it threatens to blow up the long term credibility of the show

It will be fascinating to see what happens

7Bravo tied with ABC ME both getting 0.3%.

As mentioned, 7Bravo’s lowest share so far. The channel’s Sunday ratings have been trending down since the start of the survey period.

Demo results were even worse - in 25-54 the only channel that 7Bravo beat was WorldWatch.

Nine had a rare easy win in all markets. ABC’s main channel outrated Seven’s in all markets except Brisbane. Nine got some dominant results in the key demos while 10 was second main channel and network.

The over 50 audience really coming through for the ABC as they are the main people that would watch linear TV and the kind of programming that the ABC airs on Sunday nights.

Compared to the rest of the channel’s schedule, the Sunday night movies stick out like a sore thumb and it’s clearly being reflected in the ratings.

The credibility of the “experts” will be challenged as they suggest partner swapping is good for a relationship.

Arent you “challenged” watching such a liberal show that promotes partner swapping?

Even the ‘older’ audience that adores Seven have abandoned them for the ABC’s British dramas. Younger people are watching Nine and 10 in droves.

Seven’s appealing to literally no one with an underperforming Idol and rubbish filler of A vs B. What’s next? Scomo vs Albo? Trump vs Biden? Chicken vs Duck?

But look how low pretty much every single m/c is on Sunday nights, up against Married and been this way for years, even 7flix when they had movies on this night, even the usually strong 7mate almost fell into the 1% and other performers like Peach and 7Two also very close to that mark.

Also this from Cynic in this morning’s weekly wrap for last week:

And then you have peculiarities such as 9Go! which even Nine I’m sure would admit hasn’t been travelling well at all in recent years, regularly in the 1%, but sometimes actually reverses that and pulls out a 4% or nightly topping share (like the last couple of nights)…

Vera season finale I recall also.
