No, but from what I’ve seen from him on Studio 10 (albeit last year) and his 10 News First stories, I wouldn’t personally use him in an overly serious situation.

I don’t know there is just something about him I don’t think is suited to news news.

Even in the biggest news organisations reporters have always been redeployed for big stories where required, or called upon because they’re in the area when a story break.

Heck, Studio 10 used David Robinson to report on big stories when he was with the program and he was doing the same job as Daniel now. Nothing new

I noticed watching on 10Play episodes when Ding Dong is in the studio, the opening VoiceOver now says “Now, with Sarah, Tristan & Denise, This is Studio 10”.

I’ve noticed Studio 10 is featuring much more USA imported content (interviews, segments etc) from CBS programs. Particularly between 10:30am to 12:00pm slot.

Are they struggling to program 20 hours of content a week for this show? The local content they do put on sometimes really scrapes the barrel anyway.

I noticed that shift around about the time of the change. The last time I watched they had an ‘exciting’ live interview with Judge Judy’s bailiff and I thought no one would know or care who that is. The EP used to live in America so maybe that’s why.

But, as for the local content and interviews, they just pull a lot of it from the other network’s breakfast shows anyway. Must be pretty easy and cheap to produce this show.

Quite difficult to produce four hours of fresh engaging content day-in and day-out. I feel sorry for the people behind this, whereas on Seven and Nine their teams only have to fill 2.5 hours at the most.

Studio10 will only air from 8.30 to 11am on Good Friday. With Dr Phil following it at 11 & 12.
