Studio 10

Part from some TV nerds… the general public have no idea what that show is (or was).

9am (2006-2009) and The Circle (2010-2012) were shows they tried between GMA with Bert and what we have now in Studio 10.

We can see how far we have stumbled since then. Bert was a man show from 1992 to 2005, with a little bit of help from John Foreman and Belvedere (real name Robert Mascara, he was also the studio floor manager)

From my understanding… a lot of the production crew that worked on GMA with Bert were carried over to 9am (2006-2009) and The Circle (2010-2012). Bad management led to the team being axed in 2012.

Doesn’t appear so since it’s been 15 days since anyone has posted about the content from this show. Even the most hardcore fans on this forum have given up.

Narelda talking about the media launch of World Pride. Listen out near the end for a blooper when she says “strap on” instead of “strap in” :sunglasses:

Perhaps it was deliberate to try to create chat about Studio 10.

I think its only a matter of time before they need to come up with something new for daytime on Ten. There has been talk for a while about Nine doing a Midday show style reboot. Remember before Mike Walsh had a show at midday each day on Nine, Mike Walsh was on the 10/0 network. They could have a 2 host format like when they had Tracy Grimshaw and David Reyne on Midday.

I think Ten could do a 1 hour morning show at 9am or 10am and then have a Midday style show for 90 minutes 12pm til 1:30pm.

The only possible problem could be that unless Ten has a hard and fast rule that reality shows that encore on the main channel is capped at 90 minutes in duration, that a 1:30pm finish for a midday style show, this might lead to Dr Phil having to move timeslot or not appear on days when they need extra time above 90 minutes so that they dont screen beyond 4pm.

A midday style live variety show, with a big band and live audience is never going to happen. Far too expensive for little return on investment. This is why 9 axed Midday with Kerrie Ann in the first place.

All it needs is some of those elements, yes the big band would be too expensive

A studio audience could be possible with the right combination of guests and content. The show could be filmed and slip in infobreak style inserts (similar to those inserts in the morning shows)

Unless you have the big band and no advertorials, isn’t this just another Studio 10? with the same 20k ratings or worse.

GMA had no band. Just John Foreman on the piano, and acted as “the sidekick”, and that rated well for a few years (until Kerri-Anne came aboard to front Nine’s Mornings). Sure, it wasn’t the same style as the Midday-vibe, but that still worked.

GMA was originally only live on Monday and Tuesday with Wednesday, Thursday and Friday live to tape. it went fully live in 2004 to compete with Kerri-Anne.

I think originally the show was live in the early 90s… but then started pre recording the Wednesday-Friday shows from around 1995.

But like you said, they then reverted back to live shows around 2004 due to increased competition.

Another nepotistic hire. Nerelda Jacobs, Steve Jacobs.

Nothing new from you, a seriously strange point to make. They have the same surname, and?

He thinks they’re related but doesn’t understand how it is a rather common name.
