Tarsh will be away on Friday and we’ll have someone hosting the show who’s never done it before.
Interesting, intriguing and exciting.
Rob is the master of promos… and he’s got a captive audience in this thread
That’s for sure. Maybe Ten News at Five could seek his advice for news promos.
It’s like a I’m A Celeb clue!
Except, ■■■■■■■■ gives us a few more clues

One of panel members who hasn’t hosted? Joe
Wouldn’t be surprised if it is one of the panellists, (Ita). @blackbox is probably get us all worked up for nothing…Rob?
I doubt it’s Bath - Jim Wilson just told KOFM she had “emergency dental yesterday for an abscess” and I didn’t hear him properly, but I’m sure he said something about not being able to do something for “2 weeks.”
@Rob_McKnight CONFIRMED: @Studio10au beat @Mornings9 on Friday in the 9.30-11am timeslot PLUS won Melb & Bris (even beating @morningshowon7)
I think this highlights, among other things that Queensland viewers are big fans of the show and eagerly waiting for the show to come on the road to the sunshine state. Just saying…
as Rob mentioned earlier @killy06, it’s really hard to bring the show to the sunshine state because they’re not as geared for live productions as Melbourne is. Having said that, they managed to go live from Adelaide…
There would be a lot of extra crew and that just gets prohibitively expensive. They need a major sponsor to fund the trip.
I totally understand the logistical implications & challenges broadcasting from Qld would have and I know it’s on Rob’s radar at some point however my point (which was a bit tongue & cheek) is you can’t deny they’ve had some solid wins from the viewers up this way who support and love the show and would enjoy seeing it live.
Thanks for update @RabbitEars so that counts out Chris.
Just thinking maybe like @TV.Cynic said earlier maybe they might try a male host Joe or even Hugh Riminton l know I’m clutching at straws !
Would personally like to see someone like Kathryn Robinson hosting, she’s such a great presenter and would fit the panel so well. She’s been a guest on the show twice now also.
Also someone like Gorgi Coghlan would be fantastic, although I doubt she would do a double shift on Friday with her return to The Project.
I think Kath would be a really good fit, I didn’t think of her,as would Gorgi.
Good on them, however like @MarkHD said, it doesn’t matter when both Mornings and TMS were on hiatus. If Studio 10 wins when both the shows mentioned above are live, then we can celebrate
This morning @blackbox introduced a new fifth panellist graphic, which appears AFTER the introduction from Tarsh. Great idea.
Anyone who’s even kept one eye on morning TV ratings would know we’ve been giving Mornings a run for their money this year. I’m not saying we’re there yet (and I would say we still have a long way to go) but our year-on-year gains have been great.
And yes, I’m well aware both shows are in Summer mode and we’ll drop back when they return, but there’s been some real momentum this summer and we’ve been getting above 100k quite a few times.
Summer or no summer, this show absolutely deserves an increased audience. It offers so much more personality and interesting discussion than the other two shows. Funnily enough in the past couple of hours I’ve been catching up on the past few days of shows on tenplay. The lasagne saga was hilarious.
Hopefully it will continue to grow its audience this year.
It would be great if they could get a graphic artist to create a city skyline as a background in blues that combines various landmarks from different cities that viewers can identify with. They could combine the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House with Perth skyscrapers, Eureka and Exhibition building in Melbourne, Story Bridge in Brisbane etc
Personally, I’m happy with the background… I think it’s been a nice evolution. The problem with composite backgrounds like the one you describe is, to me, it always looks like a shot of Sydney. No matter what other elements are in the picture, the harbour bridge and opera house always stand out above anything else because they’re so iconic. When I see the background used in Charlie Pickering’s show, I always think it’s Sydney, then I notice the story bridge and other elements, but my first take is – Sydney.
Plus, the point of the revised set was to add more colour other than blue to the set.
Something like what Breakfast did from August 2011 but more cohesive or like Today had in their opener in 2005.

Wasn’t that the original idea with the gameshow yellow panels? BTW, the graphics don’t support that idea either. Personally, I like the constant blue theme.

I do see you’re point, which is rather strong. The only thing, I don’t like is the green grass as it is rather a contrast isn’t it.
Quite right. Blue and green should not be seen…etc.
I really prefer blue hues on television sets which can be mixed with pastel purples and pinks. Completely agree that the blue backgrounds are better suited to the graphics used on this show too.
