Studio 10 (2015-2020)

Yes… it is… it’s an example of dark humour.

While I totally disagree with KAK’s views and can not stand her as a person, I think the real issue here is that we do not have any of the other panelists calling her out on these comments. If you look at any of the female drive panel shows from Loose Women to The Talk/Real/View you will find there success comes from having somewhat articulate hosts with differing views and they are not afraid to challenge one another. This really shows what is lacking from Studio 10.

Agree entirely. This is when these panel shows thrive- as was evident with the Australia Day discussion. It used to happen all the time with Joe and Jess Rowe, which not only offerred countering views but also was engaging to watch. That hasn’t been the case for a while now on S10.

BTW, they won’t restrain KAK because they will be hoping that it draws some eyeballs back to the show (which now sits in the 40k regularly now).

And yet, The Morning Show and Today Extra don’t have hosts who challenge each other with differing views and rate much higher than Studio 10.

Those shows tend not to cover topical issues. I could be mistaken as I never watch them. Aren’t they normally just covering things like the latest fashion, make up and women’s issues?

They do news and topical issues too but not in great depth.

Oh really, I wasn’t aware. I find them drab and boring. For annoying middle aged women. I didn’t know Sonia Kruger could think.

OK. You stick to the show that is popular with annoying middle aged men. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Don’t forget the in-depth discussion of the latest reality show the respective networks. Today Extra must be overflowing with content now that Nine has 2 reality shows each night.

Which Ten does most of the time too?

The Masked Singer/The Bachelorette
Survivor/The Bachelor

Only for The Masked Singer, Survivor, The Bachelor and Masterchef with BIP being given the cold shoulder by KAK.

Which they can easily get around by discussing on the days when she is being “rested”. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

They certainly don’t but I do not think the format is the same.

One of the primary segments of the panel (4+ hosts) morning show tends to be a hot topics segment and I am pretty sure this is the point of difference Studio 10 was concieved upon.

It can of course also be done with 2 hosts (Live with Kelly & Ryan do this very well for up to 20+ minutes at the open of each show) but this is not what Larry & Kylie or Sonia and David/Richard do.

The biggest hole with Studio 10 is the lack of hot topics. There’s so much of Sarah saying “coming up” and boring breakout interviews rather than actual discussions with the news of the day.

I wish they dedicated more time to just going through news headlines and actually analysing them. Like even just a front page newspaper round up might be good. Maybe doing some live polls on the screen for the audience to vote for.

Ben Fordham doing what he does best, getting on top of the news.

Just like going over a speed bump.
