Studio 10 classification breach

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (the ACMA) has found that Network TEN Sydney Pty Ltd (Ten) breached the Commercial Television Industry Code of Practice 2015 (the Code) for showing images exceeding a PG classification.

The ACMA’s investigation concerned the program, Studio 10, broadcast on 1 January 2016, which was classified Parental Guidance Recommended (PG) by Ten. During the program a segment featured discussion about a ‘sex tape’ scandal from 1988 and included two inset still images that appeared to have been originally sourced from video footage of the tape.

The ACMA found that Ten breached the Code as the material was not correctly classified in accordance with the criteria set out at Appendix 1 of the Code for the PG classification and was not broadcast in an appropriate time zone.

From the outset of the investigation, Ten conceded that the still images exceeded the PG classification of the program and that the broadcast had occurred due to human error. Ten also indicated it has taken a number of steps to minimise the likelihood of such a breach occurring in the future, including the implementation of new operating procedures and formal specific Code training with Studio 10 staff.

Taking into account Ten’s compliance history in relation to such matters, the ACMA considers these actions address the compliance issues raised by the investigation.

Is that the first classification breach that Studio 10 has ever had?

Also, if I’m not mistaken it happened during their (repeat of, I might add since it did air on New Years Day!) 1988 flashback show!

With Denise Drysdale on holidays for the past few weeks, Ita has been doing Monday-Wednesday with David Robinson panelling Thursday and Friday.

Monday (30.05.16)-Friday (03.06.16): Jo Casemento has been filling Jess’ seat.

Good result for Studio 10, beating Today Extra on Friday. Hopefully Denise is back this week and Jess Rowe says she is headed home soon, so we can say goodbye to the dreadful Jo Casamento. She’s awful!

A reminder - Do not post ratings numbers outside top 20.

How is Jo Casamento dreadful?

Sorry, thought if it was in a tweet it was ok. Apologies.

She just really annoys me. I don’t know what it is. But give me Jess anyday!

Nice to have Denise back from holiday today,l really missed her.
@blackbox I think he would be a good moderator if Sarah, Tarsh and Sandra are unavailable.

@blackbox tweeted an impressive result for yesterday’s Studio 10. I think it may be their highest to date. You can find the number on his twitter, as not allowed to post here.
IIRC, you could in the old forum as long as there was a link… Great result anyway.

not our highest result (we got 116,00 one day in January) but I believe it could be our highest rating week ever (won’t know until Tuesday)

Important to note the Blacktown show won’t be broadcast… it’s a special show at 1.30pm at The Blacktown Workers Club. Wednesday will be a ‘normal’ show (if there is any such thing with Studio 10) although it will be a mega 6 panel edition with Sarah, Joe, Carlotta, Jess, Denise & Ita all together for the whole show!

Wish it was in Perth :frowning: lol.

6 person panel will be interesting!

Disagree re Jo Casamento. She has been a great fill in. Not afraid to share an opinion and knowledgeable.
