Will love bloom in paradise or will their dreams of a happy ending be forever Stranded On Honeymoon Island?
Stranded On Honeymoon Island is created by Danish production company Snowman Productions and produced by Endemol Shine Australia (a Banijay Company) for the Seven Network.
The US literally had a TV show called “Married at First Sight: Honeymoon Island”, which I guess was a similar format but had former MAFS contestants. I remember a few years ago reading articles that Nine considered running the spin off but decided against it so it wouldn’t dilute MAFS. That was the right move by Nine but now seems like Seven have come swooping in on a similar concept.
The only good thing from it that I get from the promos is the eye candy. And if that’s the case should have gone a far more trashy angle like Temptation Island to try and lure a younger skewing audience at least.
If that’s the timeslot and either once or twice a week or only a few episodes then it might be acceptable but I’ll be surprised if they actually do that. Probably the next 7.30 tent pole once Dream House finishes.
I don’t think it is worthy to be a 7.30pm tentpole unless Seven wants to show it up against Nine’s live coverage of Paris Olympics.
The Monday post-8.30pm timeslot will be available once the current season of 9-1-1 finishes in a few weeks. It is the only one available at the moment, because on other nights it is occupied by Spotlight (Sundays), The Good Doctor (Tuesday) and The Front Bar (Wednesdays).
Alternatively, as Thursday night AFL finishes on June 6 this year, there will be another post-8.30pm timeslot opening up from June 13 onwards.
An eastern suburbs boxing trainer and dating show contestant who loitered around his ex-partner’s apartment and messaged her “what the f–k are you doing you f–king s–t” when she arrived home in the early hours of the morning has escaped a conviction.
Sam Maree, who features in an advertisement for the upcoming Channel 7 dating show Stranded on Honeymoon Island, appeared at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday wearing all black sunglasses inside the courthouse before he was sentenced for intimidation.
The 31-year-old had originally pleaded not guilty to the charge along with a single count of using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend which was later dismissed after he pleaded guilty to intimidation.
Maree was ultimately spared a conviction and placed on a 12 month conditional release order.
A two-year AVO to protect the woman was also ordered by the court.
Maree is described as being the “founding trainer” at Hustle Boxing which boasts almost 12k followers on Instagram and has gyms in Potts Point and Newtown.
Bit of a long bow to draw there, but certainly reflective of the type of people attracted to these reality shows given this is not the first instance - and a wider issue of the way women are treated in Australia & around the world.
