US comedy A.P. Bio has been axed by Peacock after four seasons. It streams in Australia on Stan.

Stan, Australia’s unrivalled home of original productions, tonight announced the Stan Original Film Nitram was honoured with a clean sweep of major awards at the star-studded 2021 AACTA Awards ceremony at the iconic Sydney Opera House.
In addition to winning the AACTA Award for Best Film , Nitram was tonight recognised with AACTA Award wins for Best Direction for director Justin Kurzel , Best Lead Actor for Caleb Landry Jones , Best Lead Actress for Judy Davis , Best Supporting Actor for Anthony LaPaglia and Best Supporting Actress for Essie Davis .
Nitram was also honoured at the AACTA Industry Awards on Monday, receiving wins for Best Original Screenplay for writer Shaun Grant , who was also honoured with the Awgie Award from the Australian Writers Guild on Tuesday, in addition to the AACTA Award for Best Editing for Nick Fenton.
Nitram screened in Official Selection for Competition at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival in July and was the first Australian film to compete for the Palme D’Or in a decade, with Caleb Landry Jones recognised with Best Actor honours at the festival for his performance. Nitram was also awarded the CinefestOZ Film Prize in August, in addition to being selected for competition at this year’s BFI London Film Festival.
Nitram depicts the events leading up to one of the darkest chapters in Australian history in an attempt to understand why and how this atrocity occurred. Directed by Justin Kurzel (Stan Original Film True History of the Kelly Gang, Snowtown) and written by Shaun Grant ( Penguin Bloom, Snowtown ), the film stars Caleb Landry Jones ( Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Get Out ), Essie Davis ( The Babadook , Stan Original Film True History of the Kelly), Judy Davis (My Brilliant Career, The Dressmaker) and Anthony LaPaglia (Lantana, Balibo) .
A GoodThing Productions film in conjunction with Stan, the Stan Original Film Nitram is produced by GoodThing Productions’ Nick Batzias and Virginia Whitwell ( 2040 , The Australian Dream ), alongside Justin Kurzel and Shaun Grant.
What’s stopping Starz from putting all their new content on their Starz channel on Amazon and pulling it from Stan.
A contract, probably
I would say a contract. I would guess that Starz is not a generally recognised brand in Australia. You have to be subscribed to Amazon Prime to be able to subscribe to Starz channel. That in itself would be a turn off for many people. The money they would make from deals with a streamer like Stan would far outweigh any money they would get from an Amazon channel one would imagine.
My two cents worth…
I didn’t word that right I meant what’s stopping them once the contract ends .
Yeah it seems sort of “niche”
A new RuPaul’s Drag Race spin-off called RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK Versus the World is coming to Stan next year. As posted in British Television thread, it will also be part of BBC3’s line-up when it is relaunched as a linear channel in February 2022.
All the James Bonds are back on STAN. They were removed around 2mths ago!
Maybe the rights were up in the air with other providers and Stan got them back finally.
I had heard they might have been going to Amazon or Foxtel for Binge but seems not.
Weren’t Amazon buying MGM?
Maybe the rights Stan got this time were non-exclusive and Amazon will be able to have them too when the MGM acquisition is complete?
Yep
I found this :
The ACCC notes that MGM does not have exclusive control of some of its most valuable titles, including the James Bond franchise, which may limit Amazon’s ability to exclusively license these titles to Prime Video.
The Tourist debuted on BBC One at 9pm UK time on New Year’s Day (the BBC was a co-production partner). It was the most-watched show of the night with 4.59 million viewers, and early reviews have been positive.
Anyone watched it?
Can’t say any of the promotion has grabbed me, though I haven’t really felt compelled to watch any Stan Original series.
I tried Bump, keep dipping in & out of S1 with an episode here and there. Don’t see the appeal to be honest.
I watched the first two episodes of the tourist last night and it’s quite good. Slow burn. Quirky and tense but I’ll finish it.
Not quite as good as The Fall but they’re obviously different shows.
If Stan was to lose NBC Universal if Peacock launched here and perhaps partnered with 7 or just went it alone … that would be yet again another content deal gone.
